Bonjour à tous! and thanks étrange for this initiative. I saw this post yesterday and sent a comment. It Never got posted and i was banned for 24 hrs probably because my post was in french. So i will try again, this time in english.

It is very possible to get a B2 in 6 months assuming you are doing thé Very intensive programme (VIP) at Alliance Français. Any other programme will take much longer. For example, I started studying in January with thé Regular evening programme and it took till May to conclu de with A1. From then, i took a private teacher and i had a very solid A2 in 5 weeks. My teacher says with a good A2 and lots of practice, one can excel in TEF.

As for study materials, i have thé TEF 250 activités and TEF Prepmyfuture app. Thé app is very helpful because it tells you thé strategy for tackling Every question type
and shows u your progress as u master thé concept. There is also vocabulary and grammer les sons and practise questions, TEF mock exams and alot of TEF patterned questions for your practice.

I would like to take thé exam in septembre at Alliance Phc but I'm still not satisfied with my fluency level. Maybe i would come over to Lagos for thé Octobre exam. Until then I look forward to improving my french by being part of this thread...

Below is a mooc course on coursera you can use to improve ur french, its free www.coursera.org/learn/etudier-en-france

Below is thé link to thé TEF prepmyfuture. Though you will have to pay for a one year access.
https://prepmyfuture.com/tef-english

Hi guys, I've gone through this recommended website for TEF, TEF prepmyfuture, https://prepmyfuture.com/tef-english and I saw it will really be helpful. It's 39€ for a one year access. I'm thinking if anyone else might be interested so we can share the cost. If you're interested send me a pm so we don't derail this thread. Thanks.

Strange. I got an email with the soft copy of the results and was told to come to AF at a later date for the signed certificate, which I did about a month later or so.

Oh ok.. Can you remember how long after the exam that was? I mean for the mall. Thanks in advance.

Mon grand, I too was banned for 24hrs for typing in French. I wonder how people will improve their written written French if NL keeps banning us for typing in French.

Thanks for the resources shared. We will be glad to have you join us in Lag.

I wish your private tutor was in lagos. Went to alliance francaise today and the normal class is 63k for 6weeks class.

Ok thank you for creating this page. I think it will be super helpful and useful.

I will be on this thread to help our intending francophones FOR FREE wherever and whenever they need help with French.

To my background- I never had any knowledge of French language till got to the uni, I searched for an admission and the course I was given to study was French language, at a point I hated it but after my 1st year I didn't have a choice but to love the situation I found myself. I aced all my courses till I left uni but I couldn't communicate fluently as we only read to pass in school. (Naija style now).
After Bachelors, I decided to take a step further by doing my masters in France, this helped my spoken French in a space of 3 months. I spent 3 and half years now French and I must say with all humility that my French language is a little above level C1.
I currently work as a French sales coordinator, I'm in charge of our sales in the francophones region.

Although I am yet to write the TEFexams✍️, I am looking at January slot.

Please feel free to message if you think you need help with French and I will respond to you.

Sorry to bore you with my history
Pls am interested. Are you in Lagos?

120k in Lagos, 100k in Port Harcourt. Contact any Alliance Français centre with a photocopy of your passport and 1 passport photo. You'll be required to fill out a form. That's it.

Good Morning Guys!

This is an offset of the Canada immigration thread. Apparently, some of us need TEF exam to boost our scores. I therefore created this thread to serve as a meeting place for all TEF candidates. Let's share ideas and rub minds together. Two good heads, they say, are better than one.

So let's start with these questions:

1) Are you writing TEF?
2) Have you registered?
3) When are you writing?
4) Where are you writing?
5) Have you written one before?
6) Which materials are you using?

As for me; yes, I'm writing TEF and I have registered. I'm writing in October in Lagos. I've not written TEF before though I've tried DELF. Materials? Hhmm... I'm reading anything I see online actually. I also have grammar text books and my dear YouTube channel, Français Authentique...

Et vous ?

Bonne chance à tous !

Hi bro,

please assist on step by step guide for registering for TEF. I want to book for the next available date but the information I've been getting online is somehow confusing. please assist on how to go about it. it's urgent pls.

Depending on where you are based, go to Alliance Française for all the information you need. However, if you are in Abuja, go to the Institut Française at Wuse 2.

Step by step guide to register for TEF:

Resources required:

1. A copy of your passport photo page
2. 1 passport photo
3. ~N120,000 (120k - Lagos, 100k - PH)

Steps:
Option A:
1. Visit any centre in the Alliance Français network.
2. Indicate interest in exam and fill out form
3. Submit documents(above) and make payments.

Option B: (if you're far away from desired centre)
1. Call the desired AF centre (phone numbers readily available on the internet) and indicate interest.
2. You'll be provided an email address to scan documents to (this will include the form you would have filled out in person)
3. Make payments.

Notes:
AF Ibadan does not offer TEF. Some Abuja residents have mentioned that Institut Français don't offer TEF; but you can call them to confirm this regardless.

Can we have the sample or the idea of how TEF questions look like?
I have a french background, speak and write french. But the TEF exam is a knowledge I need to get before going into it since it is relatively a bit expensive.

Hi, visit www.lefrancaisdesaffair.fr for sample tests. You can even download some free 'manuel de Candidat' pdf files from a Google search.

The samples are 100% representative of the actual tests on the day.

You can also read through the thread for specific experience from candidates who have taken a couple of days/months ago.

Cheers!

Bonjour à tous (ou bonsoir - c'est à vous de choisir)

In the course of studying for the TEF, for section A of l'expression orale, I found it very difficult to find about 10 relevant questions to ask for each given ad (on top the french itself wey I still dey battle with). Thus, I've made a compilation (if you can call it that) of sample questions that one can ask for some ads I've come across for easy reference while studying. They were gotten from different sources - the TEF books, YouTube (Enseignement du FLE, Propulse Training) and some documents I found on Scribd.

I'm in an abnormally good mood so I want to share this, maybe you can even make some corrections and provide other possible questions one can ask. Donc, click here to download sample questions for section A of expression orale

It's not exhaustive...I'm open to corrections.

Wao this is really selfless... Thanks and well done! Just to add, on the exam day, make sûre u pût an introduction before u begin the questions. I heard a good opening is about 20% of the score. Par exemple ; Allô, bonjour monsieur.... Je suis XXXX... J'ai lu votre annonce pourtant sur de la randonnée et je suis intéressé, je vous appelle pour avoir plus d'informations.....

You are wrong rs172, i guess because you do not understand the scénario. As the exam is ongoing, it is assumed that u are making a call, and since you are on the call already it is correct to say I am calling you to get more information and not i'm going to call you to get more information. So no néed for the "future proche" *vais*.

Oui, ça va aller.....

hello everyone! i'm truely grateful to all of you for making this thread worthwhile. i wrote my TEF canada exams on the 25th of august and i've got few tips for those who intend to write:
FIRST; you'll need only a black pen, but you should also go with a pencil and eraser as well. Make sure you pay attention to the instructions and not to worry, it'll be explained in english.
SECOND; during the test run for comprehension orale, make sure you can hear CLEARLY, no matter how long it takes for them to get it right.
THIRD; for the reading section, solve the 1st 10questions and the last 10questions because they are the easiest, and this will give you time to concentrate on the remaining 40questions in between.
FOURTH; in the writing section(expression ecrire), attempt the 2nd question first as it carries more marks than the first. i'll advice you use alot of subjonctif in your writing( for basic learners like me) i say this because i got a B2(310) in my writing despite the fact that i was just an A2level learner. also, always be conscious of the time, because it travels at the speed of light when you are in there.
FIFTH; when it's time for the expression orale, make sure you are calm, if you are too nervous to go in when you are called, you can always swap with someone who wants to go in early. you can also ask them what the questions in there are like, thereby giving you time and ideas to prepare with.
LASTLY. Practice Practice Practice! and then pray for God's favour.
with that said,.... goodluck!!
