That's the sad truth, in western world entrepreneurship is unnecessary stress if you are well educated like OP because your salary a year can be up to £75k at senior level where you barely do anything so hard, so who cares about running around growing business.

How about the skills you need to get a few carpenters together working for you, and become a maker and seller of quality furniture?
Shoemaking: hire people to make shoes for you, and grow to become a major manufacturer.
Fashion: find out the profit margins of those who studied fashion, create your own brand, and have them sew for your brand.

Long story short: nobody got wealthy strictly off their own efforts: you can only make so many widgets in your waking hours. Wealth is built by harnessing many people's collective hours to produce things lots of people want, and taking a small profit from each unit sold.

School only teaches people to be good employees (barely), and certificates just say: "this person obediently jumped through hoops with us, which shows he might be good at jumping through hoops at your company".

There are not enough jobs for Nigerian youths to go around. Some of us have to be entrepreneurs... and those take skills that we're not taught at school.

Well, you made good points but your last statement sums it all, "some of us have to be entrepreneurs...".

Degree is no longer guarantee a job in Nigeria. Connection is now more than Degree that you should have to sustain your Degree certificate.

All these useless certificates that no one fails. Just pay ur money n u will get the paper. Even the ppl issuing the certificates are hustlers. That's how they'll be running from one CDS to another shouting and reassuring us that the certificate has a seal and reference number for just #9500 for 3 Saturdays abi 5k for 3 days training. Pls what tangible thing can someone learn in that short time. Instead of these nonsense papers go and learn a skill or better still don't do them.
