ChimaAdeoye:Good a thing more and more of our people are beginning to understand. Please, help us disseminate this information, as much and as far as you can. The task of emancipating Igboland, is a sacred task, every single Igbo man must accept and accomplish. A problem known is a problem half solved. |

| Re: . by onuebonyi: 4:31pm On Oct 20, 2018 |
It is better to be a tenant in Gwarimpa than to live in one obscure village somewhere in Niger state where there is neither road nor light. Village life is common to you people anyways. That your dwelling village in Niger state will not allow you to see the big picture of what good living should be but someone at Gwarimpa will have a feel of good things and work hard to own a house there. That is levels for you. ![]() basilo101: |

pazienza:Gbam at the bolded! They should help build one Pro-Igbo airport inside the SE for every Igbo. Not always thinking how to steal what has been achieved in Igboland and divert it away to Port Harcourt airport or Lagos airport to suit enemies of Ndigbo that nothing tangible can be found anywhere inside the SE region. Ikwerre should help by diverting PH airport traffic to Enugu, the way they are plotting to divert Enugu intl. airport traffic to Port Harcourt. |

OMANBALA1:What economic options does Ph offer? Ph whose economy is controlled by Aba business men. Other than oil sector many of who have their headquarters and personels in Lagos, what else does Ph offer? The business in Ph is all linked to the oil sector which can only employ only a small portion of the populace, add the youthful restiveness of the area, and you have a future economic dead zone. You love Plateau? Who cares, what are you doing here then? Go create a Plateau thread or go to the Anambra thread only. Here is for those of us who are pan Igbo in outlook. Zik was born in Zungeru Niger, yet he was pan Igbo, he wasn't myopic in outlook or thought only of Onitsha. Micheal Okpara was from Abia, yet he accepted Enugu as our capital and worked to lift the City. You can't be more Anambra than Ojukwu who lived in Enugu all his life. Victor Umeh,APGA chieftain lives in Enugu. If you are going to survive in a pan Igbo agenda, then you must get use to Enugu as our capital or go open your Plateau thread. Common sense dictates that an Igboman from Anambra flying from China, London, etc to his hometown in the SE, is better off stopping straight at AIIA, and driving 1:45 at most to all parts of Anambra. Than stopping at Lagos and pass through the stress of gruelling hours of journey through Ore-Bini road, or at PH and passing through entire Imo state to get to Anambra. Telling Igbos to use Ph airport, is not even economically pragmatic and fair to Igbo travellers . And then there is the issue of Igbo national pride. Umuleri doesn't have to compete with Ph for Igbo traffic. They are not in the same economic zone. Ph should go and compete with Calabar, Bini, Uyo for SS traffick. The idea of AIIA competing with Umuleri for Igbo traffic in the future is well acceptable by me. But until that future comes, AIIA is the only Igbo inter national airport, and will not be replaced by an Ikwerre-Ijaw airport. It can only be replaced in the future by another Igbo airport, or it would rather share the traffic with such Igbo airports. |

I just saw this thread after 3 months I read through, and its really interesting to interact here not minding insults flying around here. I just want to share a little reason why I thinkit seems Ebonyi people don't want regionalism, but rather prefer states as federating units and would even prefer state autonomy to Regional autonomy. My write-up is shouldn't be misunderstood as accusation but here is the simple fact. 1)In regionalism the centre has the lion share of infrastructure and development and this is primarily why it seems a city like Enugu has more infrastructure than any other SE state capital, a state like Ebonyi actually didn't have any infrastructure going to the place of any sort but under the state of its own is able to have some roads, water , hospitals and have its people more employed which was not previously obtainable(not saying Ebonyi has arrived, far from it but gradually on the roadmap) 2)Employment is usually more to the people at the centre, take for instance the workers in regional owned institutions like the Akanu Ibiam Airport, the eastern hotels and many other regional investments had more of the people at the centre of the capital benefit more leaving those afar to wallow in their penury, 3)the taunting nature of the Igbo group.you all can bear witness how easy it is for igbos from more developed areas to cast aspersion on those without much infrastructure, things like there is no single flyover in your place and no single airport in your side.these things bring insults and people wouldn't be comfortable with it, same reason I don't buy into the idea of those saying the Enugu airport should serve igbos when tomorrow SB from Enugu begins to cast aspersion that your own state have no airport, last but not the least, since Nigeria capital was moved from Lagos to Abuja , then why can't the regional capital now be in a place like Ebonyi since we want regionalism, it must not have to remain where it was before mind you I'm from [b]Afikpo-south, LGA of Ebonyi state .. kindly bring in your opinion , I won't respond to insults though, just want a decent discussion within the forum and I'm in no way castigating any eastern state. |

These are the only international airports in Nigeria..Lagos, Abuja, PH and Kano. hehehehe The federal government has concluded arrangements to open the new terminals of Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA), Abuja and Port Harcourt International Airport (PHIA) by the end of October this year. Minister of State for Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika, disclosed this recently during the Grand opening of the Legend Hotel Lagos Airport Curio Collection by Hilton located within the premises of private terminal facility of Quits Aviation at Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos. Sirika , who informed that the federal government would spend huge sum of money in improving infrastructures at the airports especially the Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos also informed that the two other international airports in Lagos and Kano would follow suit. https://leadership.ng/2018/10/11/fg-set-to-open-abuja-port-harcourt-airport-terminals/

Ufere, I support you on this. I hate regionalism too. Thank goodness it has been abolished. Let all man be on its own and develop on their own pace. Now Ebonyi is building an international airport that will in no time serve Enugu and Ebonyi state, something that would not have been possible if it were in a regional government. murphyibiam15: |

I have been trying to educate ffools here but they are too blind to see the light. Marcus Garvey and Malcolm X are my inspirators. I can't be wrong, I embody what a black man should be. onuebonyi:thank God you agreed on this one ![]() actually I'm beginning to see it that we wasted advancement during regionalism and only empowered the centre, I wonder how Ebonyi would have been if it had been created early( say in the 70s), that's why I feel we shouldn't be talking of regionalism, its cheating IMHO |

Below is a conscise response of my dear friend,Dr Iheanyi,to a rabid Igbo hater on the backpage of one of the elite dailies. Read and be enlightened my people. Such wisdom should be our rear guard at all times: "An apprenticeship system that ensures that the young are infused with the skills and ethics that ensure their survival in the crocodile-infested world of business. Children are also encouraged to go to school and get a formal education. The result is that the Igbo states are always top of the heap in all educational endeavours in Nigeria. Meanwhile among those who love themselves and are unselfish, 14 million of their children are out of school with most begging in the streets as an apprenticeship system. Girls rarely go to school and young men have no future and end up as killers-for -hire for their loving and unselfish elite. The Igbo are always politically naive and come out in large numbers to compete for the same positions. For that reason , they shall not be supported for the Presidency. However, in the last PDP convention, up to 12 people from the same ethnic stock competed for the post of Presidential candidate and the Igbo helped choose one of them as the candidate. He promptly turned around to chose one of them as his VP without consulting the leaders of the group. When the leaders demurred , they were promptly accused of self-hate and ingratitude to the man they installed with their votes. When these disunited Igbo people mange to cobble up some unity and vote for one of the “wise ones “en block, they are piloried for putting all their political eggs in one basket. So, they can never really win. The failures of Nigeria clothe themselves in contrived wisdom, in order to try to explain away their disastrous existence in this Zoo. They become the oracles who cannot see their own futures but are obsessed with reading the tealeaves of others. So ,please let the oracle be. For him , the ability to produce a President for the Zoo , is the greatest thing to happen to his people , even if they live no better than their starving cattle. And,by the way, in this poverty capital of the world , the Igbo are the least poor, while the more united ones are poorer than poverty itself. Hope you are better educated now." |

This same clowns that want us to support enugu local airport will still be the ones to come here to insult us over our collective wealth. The same enugu airport was built during regional govt with our collective wealth. I hate regionalism, and I know that this generation will never ever accept it again. Let every state develop at their own pace. There should be nothing again like regional airport rubbish, every state should build their own. I am happy that Ebonyi is building its own airport already. murphyibiam15: |
