kudos should be given to those who have committed themselves to fighting scams and fraudsters on this forum and thread and over the last few months we have see a remarkable drop in the rate of scams .
but it seems , people are taking the fight as a won one already and people have started getting sloppy , this may cost some people dearly and set them back to square one if they dont start using their brains .
people should not forget the basic 3 fraud preventive measures which have been tested and trusted and which has saved intelligent people millions of naira
1) ASK FOR A QUOTE HERE , dont let anyone rush you in a deal , take your time , all these stupid african and naija mentality of "i dont want someone else to steal the deal or to know what i am doing " only results in people been the only fool at the end when they are scammed .

2) USE NAIRALAND SEARCH , type in the moniker or the number that contacts you for a deal to search through it dealing history, THIS IS FREE and will only last for less that 50 secs , all nairaland business history of the number will be shown to you , then if you see such number to be a scammer , you can still go ahead to send your money to him or her to test whether he or she has changed , it is ur money and your sweat not anybodys .

3) REQUEST THE USE OF ESCROW FROM KNOW REPUTABLE PEOPLE HERE , don't go and request escrow from someone who will jaapaa with your money , everyone dealing on this thread for at least 2 weeks can identify people who are reputable and who are doing a good job combating scammers here . if they are not available for escrow, try and openly request for one here . go through the history of anyone who offers to be ur escrow . if you dont get anyone , just zip up and keep ur money . your money wont explode in your bank account if you keep it there .
from recent scam cases it seems ppl have let down their guard and scammers seem to be taking advantage of this
