Rivers State Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has denied nominating Mr Peter Obi as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) vice-presidential candidate. Wike said the visit of four Southsouth governors to President Muhammadu Buhari had no political connotation, noting that the governors were in the Presidential Villa to discuss the development of Niger Delta. He spoke in an interview with Channels Television Roadmap 2019. Wike said: “I never nominated Peter Obi. But the mere fact that the Vice Presidential Candidate is coming from the South-East does not give the zone the sole right to nominate a person , since the entire country will benefit. “When the South-East said they were not consulted before Peter Obi was nominated, where did we meet as a party to agree that the Vice Presidential Candidate must come from the South-East. But we said if the Presidential Candidate believes he has somebody to work with, we said so be it “. On the new minimum wage, Wike said the review could only be sustained when the nation’s revenue sharing formula was reviewed. “I will never oppose the upward review of minimum wage for workers. But the revenue sharing formula must be reviewed. Assuming a state like Zamfara gets N3 billion monthly, and their monthly wage bill is N4 billion, then the state will not survive. Labour should understand the situation.’’ “You cannot talk of sustainable new minimum wage when you have not reviewed the revenue sharing formula. More of the money should be moved from the Federal Government to the states that bear the burden of governance. “When the South-East said they were not consulted before Peter Obi was nominated, where did we meet as a party to agree that the Vice Presidential Candidate must come from the South-East. But we said if the Presidential Candidate believes he has somebody to work with, we said so be it “.The same way some Igbos are singlehandedly deciding in their 1room self-contain apartment, that in year 2023 PDP will field a Northerner if APC fields a SouthWest candidate. Where did the PDP SouthWest and SouthSouth potential candidates like wicked Wike who controls the party chairman, agree that it must be SouthEast in APC else it will be a Northerner in PDP? It will shock the deluded when both APC and PDP field a SouthWesterner for the 2023 elections, or both field a SouthSoutherner, or a SouthWest candidate of APC square up against a SouthSouth candidate of the PDP. By then the SouthEasterners would be on a sojourn in the North, looking for any almajiri to typically serve under as a deputy with the APGA presidential ticket, just because they could not compete like the rest of the South for PDP's ticket. Minimum wage should be based on state generated revenue and all allocation received from federal should be for capital projects. Mosesm:Wike is very vocal and take responsibility for his actions unlike those 2 faced South East governors! That is why they take them for ride! Their people has no respect for them! Restructuring is What we ALL has being clamouring for! Let every state manage their resources and pay a token to the Federal government who does little with it! However, I can assure you that even if the sharing formula is reviewed MANY GOVERNORS will still complain! Our governors are very very greedy! In spite of of these I strongly believe that any government that want to pay can pay their workers this new proposed minimum wage comfortably if they are also placed on the same salary scale! Many of them don't know what these workers are going through unless they are made to go through the same! [b]Why must it be the masses all the time  While they (politicians) stash away even their own retirement benefits These governors are blinded with greed!
