Which area in Abuja? Do you plan to irrigate? Many things to consider before arriving at a conclusion.

Get a sample, and take it to centres like IITA to be on the safer side, it isn't compulsory tho.

Yes I plan on sighting a bore hole on the land, cuz I might go into animal farming in the near future, I just want to start out with crop farming as it’s cost implications is less intensive.

Hello my brother,i love your courage and passion,what I will say is if the land is in Abuja axis,i don't think you need any soil testing,just be sure the land is in an upland area not a low land area that can be waterlogged,at the beginning of rainy season,plant groundnut, you are sure of money back guarantee and good return on your investment at latest 5months (because of drying and packaging)

a very good idea,legumes also fix nitrogen in the soil making it more fertile for crop rotation, but u will need an expirenced farm hand to help.

Acquire basic knowledge on the field you have interest on. Internet information here and there is quite different from practical real experience

The first question i would ask you is this; Have you done a soil analysis of the soil on that particular land? Most Farmers and growers don't really think that soil testing is necessary but i tell you, it is. Testing the soil will give you some vital and basic information about your soil. Is it deficient in macro nutrients and micro nutrients? Has it been over-fertilized over the years? Is the soil bearing any soil-borne pathogens like nematodes which might later affect the plant in the future? Are there traces of heavy metals in the soil? Is the soil pH acidic or basic? What is the Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC) of the soil? What is the base saturation percentage of the soil? and many more. After all these has been discovered, a guideline on what to do to the soil will also be recommended. The physical properties of the soil like the soil structure, colour and texture can be known by anybody even a mad man. But in the case of the chemical properties of the soil, proper and detailed soil analysis has to be carried out. The second question is; What type of crop are you willing to grow, is it cereals, vegetables or tubers? What kind of seeds are you willing to sow; saved seeds, hybrid seeds or OPV. What type of Irrigation system do you wish to adopt? Center pivot, spray tube, sprinkler or drip tube. Which season do you wish to sow your crops, select the right season. What kind of fertilizers are you thinking of using? Granular fertilizers, water soluble fertilizers or liquid fertilizers. Finally, where is your intending market for sales after harvest located? Is it for export, mile 12, shoprite, spar or the processing industries. All these questions you have to answer them before starting up your farm. Look around your farm vicinity, there should be plenty practising Farmers.

It's best to know what's happening in your vicinity. That will help you make a better judgement

I'm not a farmer but I will suggest you look for someone who is a farmer that you can work with on that land.
Even before you bought the land you should have called expert to test the land to even see if it can grow crops or borehole can be drilled there.
