So, our Shengen VISA dropped last friday, and I just sorted out the tickets, hotel, airport pickup ride and all.
Plan is to have a baecation in 4-5 cities in 3 or 4 countries, or just stay in one throughout the period. Lol
Fact is that winter is already kicking-in most of the Western nations, so being on the road constantly won't be much fun.
Lagos- Amsterdam- Frankfurt- Milan- Rome- Paris- Lagos on the radar. So help us, God!

Man! That would have been lovely for me as a Barca fan but the city is deep down South that we can't make it within the few days window. Surely on another trip.

Now talking about planning, you can plan all you want and a 3rd party will just mess you up.
I love buying tickets at least one week in advance so I can select my preferred seat (extra leg room) and all, but this time, my bank frustrated my efforts by not loading my dollar card on time, by the time I bought my tickets from an agent, online seat selection has been closed.
Now, it will be standard seat over 7hrs! ��
More reason I need to make more money so I can permanently switch to Business class without punching calculator.

Me and Bae: (hands him over the documents, and also prepaid DHL delivery bag for the return of the documents). It's for vacation bro. We just need a little change of scene and we opted for Frankfurt.
VO: Ok, nice. So who is sponsoring the trip?
Me: The bill is on me.
VO: But the balance in your accounts ain't that much though. How long do you plan to stay?

Exactly 2weeks after, DHL delivered the Passports and documents.
We didn't spend more than 15mins in there, while some folks spend almost an hour.
But the waiting time na die! For a 9.30am appointment, it got to our turn around 2.00pm.
Meanwhile they have one useless Nigerian at the gate that will be barking at people as if he is standing at the gate of heaven.Lol

Yeah. Travel Insurance is part of the requirements. We did one month covers each.
Make sure you have all your Original documents and photocopies before setting out for your interview, also have one passport photo with white background, otherwise those touts at the car park will screw you bad. Common color photocopy they will charge you 1k each.

Yeah, for married folks.
Also if you have kids, you must present their Birth certificates from NPC (even if they are not travelling).

Arrival at the Schipol Int'l, Amsterdam this morning.
Here, we passed through the Passport control and got stamped in.
From here we can now roam all through the Shengen cities without qualms...

With a Shengen VISA, your first entry country must be the particular one that issued you VISA.
But because KLM must touch base in Amsterdam first, the route becomes Lagos- Amsterdam- Frankfurt. Lay over time is just 2.5hrs.
Some airlines layover time is almost 18-24hrs, that's madness.

Meanwhile, when we got into Frankfurt airport, we didn't go through any more Passport control/Immigration, much to my surprise.
We were welcomed to proceed into the city and enjoy our stay.
The cold is bad ass right now though, currently at 6°C.

It's crazy how these Europeans run things. Imagine this whole Hotel has no restaurant?
We were referred to a Restaurant across the street to grab something. Got in there and everything is written in German.
Fortunately the waiter speaks English, so I said, guy abeg come and explain these menus before I order nonsense. Lol
At the end of the day, we settled for seafood/Spaghetti/steak, the only thing that sounded familiar.
The bill? Nah guy, we can't continue like this- almost €50, I don't need to punch calculator to know that I must explore this neighbourhood later to find cheaper options.
For now, na to go and sleep first, and attend.

Interesting. Brings back memory of my trip to Schengen territories. In 2012, i had the opportunity to visit Germany (Frankfurt, Pegnitz) Luxembourg, France and Austria all in 7 days! That was my first trip outside Nigeria. Europe is astonishingly beautiful. I got back to Nigeria and i began to think of relocating...... Wish you a memorable stay

@992finland. Yes I am on Germany . I just asked him all the questions and he hasn't respond as for me I have 1.9. I'm not married.

Am sure he will when he get connected.u going for visit as well/.?The virgin passport should not get u worried. Many are giving visa on virgin..my first trip to USA on student visa was virgin

I'm not sure I had more than a mil sitting in the account- but of course you'd provide a 3months statement so they'll see the history of the account.
And Yes, both our Passports are Virgin.
I went there with the attitude of I'm the one doing them a favour of spending my money there, and if they refuse, I move on.
Afterall, I first tried UK and they refused.

Sometimes you don't know how Lagos madness and anyhowness messes up with your mind until you are in a different sane environment.

So, this traffic light is in front of our hotel, and we wanted to cross over to head for the restaurant, in my 'spirit of Lagos', I dashed to cross in the middle of road and wifey gently pulled me back and pointed to the lights. Immediately, it occured to me that this is not Lagos ooo, better leave the madness behind

Breakfast at the hotel. That's the only meal they serve here.
Meanwhile I observed the scarcity of black people in this city.
Unlike Amsterdam, immediately we arrived Frankfurt Airport, there were practically no blacks. Even when we went to the main shopping street at Zeil, something like Idumota/Broadstreet, we could count blacks on our finger tips.
Then, in this hotel, with over 50 guests that came down for breakfast, we were the ONLY blacks.
We are already feeling like exotic species here. Lol
