I am actually not sure of the section to post this, but do bear with me.

I am a teacher in a private secondary school.

There was a programme yesterday, the 31st October, 2018. The programme is called open house.

Open House is a programme whereby parents go to there ward's classroom in order to understand their academic affairs. Students are equally to remain in their classrooms.

I take Financial Accounting. The implication of this is that when it is the period for the subject, students who do not offer the subject, leave for other classes. But, due to the programme on going, they remained in classroom while I teach. The noise and disturbance was too much from a particular girl(she has large breast n u know...?). As she was unrelenting with the noise and causing distractions, I threatened her with a slap. I eventually slapped her and she pushed tables and chairs out of her way, out of the classroom to report me to the authority.

All these happened at the witness of her class teacher and about fifteen of her classmates.

Here is it!!! the report she gave brought a different ball game as she practically reported that, "...the teacher was putting his hands in my vagina".

The principal, all HODs, the school administrator and the VPs gathered to make a quick investigation.
As at this time, the premises was almost in crisis as there is zero tolerance for child molestation in the premises.

The classmates witnesses chorusly testified against her before the panel and the class teacher does not spare herself of her contribution by calling her all sort of names even before the panel.

My Concerns

The last teacher who was convicted of such,was sent out of the premises the next day by the management. As the issue was almost the same circumstance.

Secondly, what if the whole thing had happened at a location in the premises where no one could possibly notice what actually transpired? And that means that I wouldn't have gotten any witness.

Part of the premises and some parents now got a third hand information about the matter as the girl is not being punished and practically move around with great fulfilment of inducing a punishment on a teacher (as claimed by her classmates, though).
Since, the girl has not been made to face any form of sanction or the other, the matter is gradually translating to the contrary. And this is slowly affecting my teaching as other students and parents are gradually seeing me as a, student "...vagina..." smoocher.

I am possibly looking at the area of litigation ie taking the matter up legally. But this may affect my job.

I need your advice, assistance and suggestions on the steps to take as I cannot describe degree of the psychological turbulence that I face at this moment.

Op,do you want to charge the student or the school or her parent to court ? Who exactly do you want to charge to court because I am confused,wondering if one can charge minor to court?

come to my ppa and you will know what op is trying to say. all them girls in ss2/3 be like, corper I know you don't know how to cook that's why you eat at that place we normally see you, can I come and help to....... at least, maybe on Friday.

Okay now listen to your argument.. it sounds valid and we all know it is normal for a growing female teenager to develop some ego at a point.. but trust me she won’t have the audacity to just come at you about touching her p**sy if you haven’t made a fool of yourself in the first place..that’s why I’m not trusting this man argument... he no talk the full matter as the matter take be

Well, I know you'd be feeling bad rn. I would take anything with levity (happy-go-lucky!) but never a wrong accusation on me - and that's why I try not to pass my boundary, especially with girls! I taught at a girls secondary school during NYSC and throughout the time, I made sure I only discussed class- related issues with my students and nothing more. Once a student brings up any funny issue, I just would not give a reply or I ask the student to stop!

The situation of the country is terrible, I would have advised you quit the job outrightly. But still, you just need to quit the job. teaching job is still easy to find, if you are qualified enough as a teacher you should easily find another teaching job. Just start packing!

Also, before you leave try to ensure you clear yourself off the whole mess. Maybe you'd have to report to the principal (if you have a good relationship with him/her). After you are done clearing yourself before your 'haters' (the people believing the third hand information), Just find your way. You don't need to hurt your own self esteem because of one teaching job
