Anambra is not Monolithic. From parts of Aguata to Orumba South and North, land is called "Ala" and not "Ani" or "Ana". Go to Umuchukwu town, the home town of Dr Mmadu, all the way to Ogbunka, Umunze, Owelle Ezukala, Ezira, etc in Orumba South, land is "Ala" and their language is same as those of Isuochi people in Abia North.

All those areas are parts of ancient Isu stock of Igbo land.
Their language and culture are same with very little variance.
I have been to those places, and can tell you that they are not in any way culturally or linguistically related to Idemili than to their Isu brothers in Abia and Imo North areas.
Let's stop deceiving ourselves and stop non useful discussions.

That is the beauty of Anambra state, the coming together of all Igbos to create a union of brotherhood.

Once Anioma is created, Anambra will be the center point for all Igbos.

Listen this low class Nsukka clown. Aguata, Ihiala, etc speak speak "ala'. Other parts of Anambra speaks " ana". Anambra is a monolithic state. The first Igbo Bible was written in Onitsha language.

Anambra colonized Enugu people and gave them the Igbo dialect they speak today in Enugu urban. You can't find an Nsukka man speaking Nsukka dialect in public, he would rather speak that which Anambra thought him which is Anambra dialect. That is the influence of Anambra in Igbo land as the flagship state.

You made some good points on state creation, but within the political realities of Nigeria, this is why more states are needed in the SE.

Here's why:

1. More states mean more from the Federal gov't in regards to appointments, such Ministerial appointments help shift and move policy
2. More states mean more people pushing your agenda in the House of Reps
3. More states mean more people pushing your agenda in the Senate
4. More states mean that you have more political power to leverage and bargain when relating to other regions
5. State creation in the current dispensation of the Nigerian system is not economically motivated, but politically motivated. This is why many states cannot economically survive without Federal allocations, so we have to focus on the politics and not economics of state creation in Nigeria.

Currently, the best move would be to do away with states and instead have 6 regions that are semi-autonomous - however, this is harder than merely adding an additional state to the SE, from within the SE as opposed to potentially bringing people who claim an alternate ethnic group into an ethno-harmonious region, this is not wise. The agitation for adding outside groups into the SE such shouldn't come from the SE Igbos, but should be grass roots from the areas that want to reconnect with the larger Igbo family.

Once an additional state is added the political power to push for a restructuring agenda is also strengthened.

The part that is most interesting and that I have come across frequently is the Ihiala argument.

I have met people from Ihiala and their dialect is Anambra not Imo.

Perhaps Orlu and Oguta people have Anambra dialect as opposed to Owerri.

I hope you know anambra is very heterogenous. Anambra is not a people as most of you try to claim. Ihiala is 100% Imo stock and if they want form new state with their orlu kith and kin you can't stop them. In anambra every town is distinct and have little or nothing in common with a neighboring town. So be warned. You only speak for your town. This different in Enugu where the whole state is made up of only 5 groups: Nsukka, Udi, Nkanu, Awgu and Oji. With Nsukka accounting for nearly 50% of the state in both population and landmass it is unarguably the largest igbo sub group. Anambra is just a mere geographical expression

You an Enugu man can't tell me the history of Anambra towns and their origins. The "ala" in Ihiala doesnt necessary mean land,say what you know. The people of Ihiala are bonafide Ndi Anambra because they live and practice Anambra culture. They eat Nsala, Onugbu, ofeakwu and cook their soups with ede/cocoyam. They practice Nze na Ozo and dance the ufie gong. It doesnt get more Anambra than this. They will rather marry from Anambra than Imo and speak a form of Anambraic dialect just like Azia, Okija etc.

Anambra towns are related by either kinship or culture ,which has buckled us tightly together and yes it kinda monolithic! You cant partition Anambra, you will be in grave before you achieve that. Face your state and mind your ffucking business.

Monolithic state where nkpor, obosi etc reject onitsha tag?? Nsukka is the name of just one town but 7 LGA adopted the name due to their homogeneity. Apart from nnewi with one LGA no other homogeneous LGA in anambra

Anambra will not be the center of Igboland, even if you add Anioma to SE. Go and take a look at the map of Igboland again.

You claim to be Biafran, yet you are buying the idea of states as created by Nigerian state as a meter of measurement of Igbo groups unity. You don't seem to understand the various groups and clans in Igboland, prior to Gowon state creations in 1967.

You are mistaken.
Ihiala speaks pure Isu dialect of Igbo, found in Northern parts of Imo state.

Nnewi speak a unique form of language, corrupted by loan words from the Isu groups found in Nnewi South.
Land is Ana in Nnewi, but it's "Ala" in Ihiala.
