Arsenal continued with push up to EPL top.

After two back to back draws in the League, Arsenal will aim to get back to winning ways. In their fourth consecutive game at the Emirates the Gunners will host Jorge Mendes’sNuno Espírito Santo’s Wolves on Sunday night.

The North Londoners have just secured qualification to the next stage of the Europa League after the goalless draw to Sporting Lisbon. However, injuries to Danny Welbeck and Stephan Lichtsteiner dampened any celebrations afterwards.

With Spurs winning away at Crystal Palace last night, Arsenal will know only a win tonight will keep the pressure on their neighbours and will be keen to ensure the gap stays as small as possible.

Wolves have lost their last 3 league games and will aim to stem this flow of bad results at the earliest. A win will see them leapfrop Leicester and back into the top half of the table before the International break commences.

For the Gunners, it’ll mostly be Bernd Leno in goal once again – preferred over Petr Cech. Sokratis should be available for selection which means one of Rob Holding or Shodran Mustafi may have to make way for the Greek centre-back. Hector Bellerin shall take his spot at right back and Nacho Monreal might just make the cut, if he’s shaken off his thigh/hamstring injury.

Granit Xhaka & Lucas Torreira will link up once again at the base of midfield as is usual – with a whole host of attacking combinations available up front. Aaron Ramsey & Henrikh Mkhitaryan were rather woeful against Sporting so the possibility that both are dropped isn’t too unfounded. Mesut Ozil shall be the de facto #10 as Alex Iwobi, Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre Emerick Aubameyang could all be deployed together once again.

Nuno will have a largely full-strength squad at his disposal – with forward Raul Jiminez having a particularly impressive game in their defeat to Spurs last week. He’ll be the top of the diamond with Joao Moutinho, Ruben Neves, H. Costa, Jonny and Matt Doherty all feeding him incisive, quick deliveries all game long. Once again, Wolves are likely to field a back 3 of Bennett, Coady and the quietly impressive Willy Boly.

This writer has a sneaky suspicion that an upset might be on the cards today. A loss (or even a draw) at home shall be a truly unfortunate way for the Gunners to head into the Interlull but here’s hoping Unai Emery’s men prove us wrong and secure 3 points at The Emirates.

I don't know why I'm not comfortable with Mustafi in dat defence... I prefer Sokratis and Holding. Mustafi is always very prone to mistakes time and time again
