Ship chandling is a retail process that concerns the special way in dealing with the supply of products or equipment for ships, known as ship's stores.
Every ship chandler’s job operates in a very unique way since they caters specifically and focus more on that line of business that allows them to give room to the spirit and continuity of the business – a related to the seller as well as the client.

In Nigeria today, we have many vessels that come in to trade for business with several clients in mind based on their size and of products they require for.
Some of these vessels deals include but not limited to the following:
(1) Container vessels (RORO vessels)
(2) Oil tankers (in this category the crude tankers are also inclusive)
(3) Barges (either the self propelled or those that have to be pulled)
(4) Waste recovery vessels
(5) Cold room DNV containers

(9) Other boats such as speed, banana boats etc

All aforementioned vessels, tanker, containers and other types of carriages would require the services of staffs that would operate manage and use them to render services.
Since all vessels including it staffs requires daily supplies like food and catering items, vegetables, bunker fuel, fresh water, toiletries to mention a few which enables the application of chandling services sets in.

Due to the nature of the profession, it so happens that each and every ship chandler is held in high esteem and regard.
An uncommon and lucrative area of the offshore industry with minimum number of players that invest hugely and play carefully with great effort and curate real income generation.
