Thank you for that swift reply Koning. I actually came to Nigeria last month to commence the project and I bought all the materials myself including paying for the labor.
In relation to thieving workers it might be possible but I wasn’t thinking about that actually.
The materials were delivered in my father’s compound which is just a stones throw from my site because I don’t have much space in the site.
In fact, as I write to you, I have huge piles of 16mm, 12mm, 8mm and 1/4 rod remaining after the pillars and chaining both down and the lintel have been completed.
The rod estimate was meant to be in excess of what I need at this stage instead of having shortage as the work progressed.
Having said that, I’m happy for you to have done your own at that price. However, the year 2016 is exactly two years ago, right. And I’m sure the prices of building materials then have changed and is profoundly diffferent from the price it is sold now. For example, I moulded the 9” blocks( hollow ) for this house in 2016 when the price of cement was at N1,400 as opposed to N2,400 I bought last month.
You were extremely lucky as a stitch in time they say saves nine,lol.

I am currently building a 5 bedroom duplex in Anambra State. The building has now reached the decking level and I’m wondering how much it will cost to do the decking given the current market prices of building materials.
I live in Europe and being my first building project I was excited to come home to witness the digging of the foundation uptil lintel and the 3 blocks coaches to ready it for decking.
I’m now back to Europe, and preparing for the decking of the house which by God’s grace I will complete and go to the next level.
I would like you to help me out with an estimated cost of decking this “small” house.
Attached is the plan of the building to enable you make an informed estimate for me.
Pls note that the last attachment is UPPER FLOOR PLAN as opposed to GROUND FLOOR PLAN as erroneously and unfortunately indicated/stated.
