Most readers don't know how hard it is to write sometimes. Punctuation marks, grammar, using the right words to conver deep emotions, holding your readers attention, adding a little suspense, indept narration, catchy beginning, knowing how and when exactly to perfectly end the story, etc.

You have to tell a story, with multiple characters. You create a whole world in your head, and then talk from the point of view of multiple people, with different personalities...Sometimes you get so deep rooted in your story that you loose yourself, and almost become one of your characters. Sometimes your characters become so real that they haunt you.

I'm fast with typing. I once wrote a 5,000 word short non fiction book in the time it took my siblings to go and return from church (about 3 hours)... But I can never never write a good work of fiction of the same word count in that time frame. Mental work should never be compared with physical work. Mental/creative work ain't for children.

I like this write up. I can relate.

Any honest, hardworking and determined agent out there?

Get in touch for a lifetime successful collaboration.

I believe I've got it and we can definitely do great things.

Note the traits that are required.

Cheers!

Writing is for whoever wants to write...& is willing to learn how to...don't come here to dampen people's aspirations. I know young people who write better than most of your idols. It's got to do with what you're writing & your knowledge of it. Thank you.

Yeah.
When a Critic sees something wrong in a work doesn't mean the work is bad. It means the writer can work on the said essay again.
We have constructive critics as well as destructive critics. You just have to discard destructive criticisms and work on the constructive ones.
Over time, Critics don't really critique the works of many Nigerian Writers, because once you do they brand you a jealous person who don't want them to grow.
Cheers.

All those you have to... you have to... is your own way of making it look cumbersome, gifted writers don't see these as something that requires special effort, it's only applicable to people with passion for writing and little or no gene of writing.

A good reader knows good writers; child or not, he can easily differentiate the work of a struggling or trained writer from a gifted writer.

Word.

I read the write-up.

Unfortunately it is you who did not get my point. The writer is using an outdated dogma of "working to hard" but realities of life has taught me otherwise believe it PR not there are some armature writers that are much celebrated today as great writers.

While some great and talented writer remains unknown. As the Bible rightly put it all borne down to opportunity and chance. So forget this hard work thing.

Ever heard of the saying, "It's no child's play?"

Go with the flow.

Publishers do reject works. It is often these days than before. This book by Tomi Adeyemi children of blood and bones was rejected also before her agent took her to this publisher that published and signed a movie contract with her.
I have a traditional novel I want to publish by December l, been working on that piece of work for over six 6 years now. I think I need a publisher that usually rejects work to publish that book that will put me on the right track. If u have any around Lagos and plateau state pls assist

Writing is not easy in any way.
I always had thoughts floating around but when I created a diary those musings quickly gave way to writer’s block.
OP, I salute your determination. Writing is something I will like to make a living off but sadly can’t due to the limits of my imagination.
Na freelancing sure pass. At least doing that you’re given guidelines to follow.
