The Gregorian Calendar is based on a Common Era, Anno Domini (AD), which means After Death of Jesus. We're in the year 2018, which denotes 2,018 years AFTER the death of Jesus.

So yes the Gregorian Calendar IS a christian calendar no matter how you christian apoligistic idiot tries to deny that fact.

Pope Gregory XIII, introduced the Gregorian Calendar in October 1582 to replace the Julian Calendar because it was more accurate in measuring the spaces of leap years to make the average year 365.2425 days long, approximating the 365.2422 day tropical year that is determined by the Earth's revolution around the Sun.

Religion had NOTHING to do with it. The use of AD and BC predated the Gregorian Calendar by about 900 years and was first introduced in the year 525 by Dionysius Exiguus of Scythia Minor, but was not widely used until after 800.
