Lionel Messi has finally answered the question to whether he could do it on a cold Tuesday night in Stoke - and his reply was as brilliant as his goals. Lionel Messi is widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time. He has broken all kinds of footballing records, leaving everyone bedazzled with his skills. There is often an argument about who is a better footballer in the current generation, Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo. Renowned Spanish football journalist Guillem Balague recently revealed that he had asked Messi about the possibilities of playing in the Premier League. He also quizzed him about his feelings behind the notion that many don’t believe that he can do it on a ‘cold night in Stoke’. The Barcelona Maestro replied by referring to the childhood days when he played in a rough neighborhood in Rosario, Argentina. “I asked Messi about people in England saying: ‘You would not do so well on a cold, wet night in Stoke,” asked Balague. Messi replied, ‘Where is stoke? They should have seen the pitches I played on in Rosario, and I was quite good there too.' So there it is. Messi has done it on dodgy pitches and in the cold, wet and hail. There is simply no debating the fact that he is one of the greatest players of all time and has performed at an elite level for his whole career. Talk is cheap ! While Messi talks the talk, Ronaldo works the work! ( no one saw him leaving the La liga but he did ) Ronaldo has lived ( and still living) the dream of every footballer...playing in almost all the biggest leagues in Europe ( he lands and the league shakes!) He set a course for himself and there's no stopping him ( not even Fiorentina Perez could stop him) When all is said and done, he'll have great stories to tell in his autobiography.
