In his plan, Atiku boldly stated that only 21% of the capital component of the 2017 budget was
implemented. He went further to credit this “fact” to the MoF. (Pic 1)

But a quick visit to the website of the budget office discredits this fact. N2.2trn was estimated for capex in the 2017 budget and by the end of the fiscal year, about N1.46trn was released to and utilized by various MDAs. This sums up to roughly 63% of the total sum and not the 21% as lied about by Atiku (Pics 2/3).

Also, this was confirmed by then Minister of state for Budget and planning (pic 4).

So, where did Atiku get his figure from?
