Boko Haram: APC Should Apologise To Nigerians For Not Fulfilling Promise – PDP by nairavsdollars(op): 10:29am On Nov 28, 2018
Temidayo Akinsuyi, Lagos

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has demanded an unreserved apology from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) over its failure to address the insecurity challenges plaguing since coming to power almost four years ago.

Speaking in an interview with Daily Independent in Abuja on Wednesday, Kola Ologbondiyan, the party’s National Publicity also asked the APC to apologise to former President Goodluck Jonathan for describing him as ‘clueless’ in solving the security challenges which according to the PDP has gone worse under the Muhammadu Buhari administration.

It also asked the APC to apologise to Nigerians for failing to fulfill its promise in ending the insurgency if voted into office, saying that under APC’s watch, Boko Haram has become more daring killer and injuring scores of military officers in Metele recently.

“Nothing has changed since APC took over. In fact, the situation has gone from bad to worse under APC. I believe we deserve total apology from the APC because they have failed grossly in handling the security challenges which is one of the cardinal programmes of the Buhari-led administration.

“Before the 2015 elections, there was no local government that was under the control of Boko Haram but when the APC in their desperation wanted to tell lies so as to get the votes of Nigerians, they claimed that 17 local governments in Borno were under the control of Boko Haram.

“We challenged them then to name the local governments but they failed to do so. All you just need is to go to Google and search ‘When was Monguno rescued from Boko Haram?’ It comes out with the date. But since June 2015 that APC has been in control of government, consistently, our military formations are being attacked, our soldiers are being killed in their numbers and they cannot find any solution to it except to engage in blame game saying the country was messed up for 16 years.

“16 years ago, Bola Tinubu was governor of Lagos state. 8 years ago, Rotimi Amaechi was governor in Rivers state. So, when you sit down and make these horrendous allegations about how the country was messed up 16 years ago, you are indirectly saying that Tinubu, Babatunde Fashola, Amaechi and others who are in APC also failed.

“So, I believe that APC deserves to apologise to Nigerians, our party and former President Goodluck Jonathan for their failure in ending insurgency and lack of direction in governance,” he said.

cheesy

Nigerians are wiser now. Who has time for one stupid apologyhuh

We're more interested in sending out bad leaders from government and voting in a new generation of optimistic leaders.

Truth is that I love this country so much. Reason is that we have the capital and human resources to make it great. We don't have to imitate the whites before becoming a great nation. We can always do things in the African way. I love the African way of doing things. This has nothing to do with backwardness. We have to be more aware and conscious of our history. We have to be more engaging in politics. We must learn to take decisive actions in controversial issues. Docility kills. We need a revolution.

APC can keep their apologies, while Nigerians keep their votes.

Now becoming obvious, when the dullard says 'We' are winning the war, he means them Boko, as its clear he's fighting on the side of the BHT.
Bloody terrorist.

PDP should begin, or at least, join APC in the apology, for a problem they (PDP) created.

How do you expect the number 1 jihadist that once said an attack on BokoHaram is an attack on the north to react when his BokoHaram boys kills our soldiers? His BokoHaram which also doubles as hausa/fulani soldiers have taken it upon themselves as to wipe out all southern soldiers..only the wise can see these things....

There happens to be a sequence in this failure by the Nigerian Army in containing (at best) Boko Haram.

Whenever there is a southerner in-charge of the Nigerian Army operation, Boko Haram's range and intensity reduces drastically. We saw this very well with the last Igbo Officer who even got showered with praises by the current Governor of Borno over his ability to drastically curtail the activities of Boko Haram. Shettima will receive severe backlash from both his fellow northerners and the Nigerian army over his statement crediting the said Igbo officer of decimating BH.

Now the Nigerian Army has settled for another southerner (a Yoruba) to replace the disastrous former commander who happens to be a northerner and a Muslim.

Is it mere coincidence that whenever a northern commander is appointed, BH activities increases? Is this down to sheer incompetency of northern offices largely due to the quota system that saw them enlisted and promoted to ranks and commands far above their competency? Or are we to assume that northern muslim officers are sabotaging the efforts and lives of their own men in preference for BH? This isn't far fetched as we have seen Buruntai as COAS oversee the release of captured BH elements after he claimed they had been "deradicalized and repented" from their Boko ways. Or how about the case of some NCOs who mutinied and nearly killed their own commander (a northern officer) over what they claimed was his deliberate and systematic sabotage of their safety and welfare. Those NCOs are currently awaiting execution after being sentenced to death by a Military tribunal. Meanwhile the erring General was only forced to retire voluntarily from service.

This war has been raging on for Nine fcking years with no end in sight and this is the 7th fcking Army General to assume control of operations to uproot Shekau and his gang.

Somebody should go and beg Shekau to join the Nigerian Army as he is obviously more of a better soldier than that snake charmer and all his useless officers.
