The Confederation of African Football has released the names of nominees for its 2018 awards. The award ceremony will take place in Senegal on January 8th, 2019.

They are there just to complete the list...

But I just don't know why I think Mbampe is not in anyway better than the likes of Rashford, Lingard, Sane, and Iwobi..
The dude is given more credit than he truly deserves..

I'm not a CR7 fan as I'm a Messi fanboy. But I'd rather they give balloon d'or to CR7 than give it to Mbampe..

Honestly, something has gone wrong with the present crops of African players. Just like you said, non of them is on top form like we used to have Drogba, Eto'o, Kanu, Adebayo n co who won it back then.
