I sold xiaomi note 5 to him, after 4 days he said screen stopped responding to touches. I collected it, sent it back to xiaomi in China and refunded him. Tho xiaomi assessment report indicted contact with water from the buyer.

After repairs, his mi account is still signed in and I need the password, else it'll be double loss for me.

I can't find his number again. The account he received his refund into was OKE JOHN ADEWALE (gtbank)

He was referred by an older buyer who I don't even know. Please if you happen to have a clue help me please.

1. Note/descriptions don't get displayed every time (especially if he doesn't use app or e-alert)

2. There are 50/50 chances of the money going down the drain without the the desired reaction

The only escape route is cracking which will restrict the device to only the Chinese rom while the guy's mi account will even still be there. The next reboot will be wahala again

If you're sure its GTB, visit customer care at the bank and make a complaint, they should be able to get to him

I'm not sure, but what if you flash it in EDL mode using a fastboot rom, will it still require you to sign in using MI ID during setup?

My advise contact your attorney, together with him or her(Lawyer) visit the nearest police station, lodge a complaint, with this story and proof of ownership.
Am sure they should be able to do something.


Meanwhile, what medium did you take in transferring the said phone? Both the first time and The time it got spoilt?

It will still require, as far as it was signed in in any miui rom.
