Residents of Opolo in Yenagoa, Bayelsa state capital are still gripped with fear following a robbery attack in their area. 

According to reports, the gunmen numbering over thirty with dangerous weapons including guns, knives and axes stormed the area and attacked the home of one woman identified as Jane and others.

The armed robbers were said to have made away with an undisclosed amount of money and other valuable items after they gained access into the house by breaking the door and window.

The robbers were said to have operated for hours unhindered and left after a successful operation.

The house occupants were not killed, according to reports but were left with minor injuries. 

The residents are calling on the security agencies to come to their aid and prevent an attack like this in the future.

There is absolute need to secure Nigeria. Not just Bayelsa alone. Is Nigeria under policed? Yes. There are several illegal groups and terror cells everywhere. Equipping the Police Force properly with adequate training and remuneration would help Nigeria overcome these armed groups. Finally it is time to let everyone know that Terrorists are not our brothers. They are NOT our sisters. They are terrorists. They don't discriminate when they strike. The same goes for other miscreants.
