You are to be held responsible because for your to bite someone till death it will require a serious fight and barking. You suppose don wake up from sleep

Good p.m to you all. I would like to know your opinion on this:

Let's assume I have a dog in my compound and I let the dog loose at night. Now, a buglar gained entrance into my compound but was confronted by my dog. He got series of bites from my dog and eventually died.

In the morning I woke up and headed out to my garden only to find my dog laying closer to the dead buglar .

who is to be held responsible for his death?
Just call the Police and lay a complain.
In my Opinion, the Burglar has Trespassed a Restricted Area.
Also learn to Train your Dogs only to Kill as a Last Resort.

Also pray the Stranger could be identified as a Burglar else Nigerian Police might waste your time unnecessarily.
One way to avoiding such is putting up a Sign that Dogs are in such Premises.
Also if there's Evidence the Burglar Scaled a fence or Forced his way in, then no case against you.

In fact, just calling attention of Law Enforcement Officers is more than enough to get the Burglar out of the premises .

As for Whom to be Blamed - it's the Trespasser

I have a question of my own, if I am walking my dog minding my own business and then someone walks up to me or close to me and starts petting or playing with my dog and gets bitten, does he or she have any right to take it up against me?
