Please don’t use your credit card for cash transactions as the interest accumulates daily until you pay in full. It’s not $22.99 but 22.99% on the amount (average daily balance actually) and there’s also a flat fee for cash advances. Not worth it pls, use a debit card for cash transactions

If you’re in Mississauga and close to Westwood mall, you have to experience ‘Naija jollof’ restaurant. No I don’t own the place or even know the owners. It’s been on social media and they just opened Dec 1st. Just decided to drop by Cos I was around and mehn the food is good. Come and see people rushing the food like no tomorrow lol

Yep them don plenty everywhere. Had similar experience when I was looking for a flat on kijiji, a colleague mentioned she had same experience too. Anyway Naija 101 should keep us alert.. Canada no mean say foreign fraudsters no dey. Lets all be alert as usual. When I came here.. I was on one of them streaming sites, next thing I get one of those pop up ads n it says my computer had been locked and I should call "Microsoft" for a technician to unlock it. I called the number and someone with an accent picked and said I have to pay. My antenna started standing at that point, but I was freaking out, cos I couldn't leave the screen. I googled Miscrosoft care and the number was different from the one on my screen and the person was still blabbing. Anyway, I called my bro and he told me it was a scam, that I should just turn off the wifi and turn off my computer. na so I escape oh. While this was going on, I called my bank immediately and blocked all my cards "forst".. This happened less than a week after I landed so I was pretty shocked.

Please what is the fastest way get to Kitchener from Toronto's Pearson Airport. With the cold, I am not even considering the rail service and I am not sure a pre booked cab will want to be kept waiting when I cannot determine the exact time I would exit the airport.

Please don’t follow them say them say, be positive you will get a job. I don’t know anything about schooling here as I have only done a licensing certification and not a school program here and didn’t have difficulties getting a job either (before the license).I also don’t know the province you’re landing in plus the demand in your field but other people here with more information/experience will respond to you

Your best bet will be Greyhound bus on arrival, you can check their schedule online and know what works best for you. You may also consider Uber as an option as it will be readily available on arrival and finally, you may also never go wrong with flat rate airport taxis from the to your destination.

hey... finally someone coming to Kitchener. lol!. Sorry I don't know a reliable response to your question. Maybe you can call the cab company you want to book from and explain the wahalla with timing, or you give them 1 hour later, say.. you will land at 7am, tell them to come at 8am or 8:30.. to give you time to sort out all landing wahalla.. incase you get searched or your flight is delayed.

I would recommend Mark Holthe - founder Express Entry Law Facebook Group. He's experienced, compassionate and straight-forward. He wouldn't accept payment unless he's confident of a positive outcome - reason why a consultation is the first step.

I have consulted with him twice and his patience gets me all the time (expecially when Internet connection begins to misbehave). After my last consultation with him, due to some issue with my card, I couldn't make payment for over a week but he was so nice and understanding.

Landing gist!

My waka started from the city of Pitakwa.
I had planned to use Abj Airport when booking but I just don't know how I forgot and chose Lagos. I had heard stories about the Lagos airport and had to start praying I don't get to speak plenty grammar or part with a lot of money.

I used Airpeace from PH to Lagos. Domestic flights only give 20kg(which was like a drop to what I was carrying) for check in luggage, so I paid better money for excess luggage.. E pain me oh, but at least I felt more at peace than the other options I had in couriering my things to lagos which were cheaper.

I had asked around and was told I wouldn't get a hotel within my budget(8-10k) around or close to the airport but thankfully I found one - Presken Hotel at Allen jxn. Staff and service was cool.

I was traveling with a friend and colleague and we were heading to the same city. My friend's sister sent us a cab guy who was of great help to us.

We arrived the airport around past 9am, our flight was by 1:45pm.
When we got to the airport, he carried all our bags... Including my foodstuff bag which was weighing about 42kg( looking back, I wonder how I for manage with that bag). The guy was also a regular at the airport and knew a couple of the staff there so he helped us go through most of the motions.
Our bags weren't searched. He got food stuff clearance for us. And negotiated the extra luggage cost for us with Ethiopian Airline. I ended up paying 100usd.
I went to the BDC in the airport and changed some naira I had on me then proceeded to immigrations.
That went smoothly. I had forgotten about some N200 notes I had in my pocket, so while patting me down the officer there said I should bless her even if na 200, so I gave her.
I think arriving early (even if your flight is in the afternoon is better cos the staff are less cranky and there is also less pressure on you knowing you have enough time to do all you should do)


The flight to Addis was cool...
(The Addis airport make me weak for Nigerian Airports)
The flight from Addis to Toronto was cray! Too damn loooooooooooooooog. I sleep wake up taya. Plus I'm not so good with sleeping on a chair.. I nearly lie down for the aisle.
I was just thinking how I would have to go through this same thing when I have to go back to Nigeria. I sha decided I would have to save up more money so I can take flights with shorter flight time mbok.
Aside the long journey Ethiopian airline was cool.. Courteous airhostesses, The food no too follow sha but was manageable ( we were served 5 times or so), In flight entertainment was very cool.

We landed Toronto around 7am in the morning and our connecting flight to Edmonton was by 10:25am
Landing formalities were a breeze. Less than 30mins everything.
No luggage check
Wasn't asked for POF( was only asked how much cash I have on me which was just 900usd)
The officer cheerfully stamped me in, with congratulations bla bla bla, welcome to Canada... And I went to Service Canada to get my SIN.

I wished Toronto was my last stop cos I was now tired of the whole journey mehn. The flight to Edmonton by Air Canada seemed to take forever.

In this whole journey I realized I don't like flying. My fave moments now became when I hear "Ladies and Gentlemen we are now descending in preparation to land bla bla bla..... "
Edmonton welcomed us with snow and a temp of -3 C
Picked up my bags and waited for my sister to come pick me home where very hot jollof rice was waiting.
One of my bag didn't come from Toronto, but I was later sent and delivered to the house.

A few days later, I went into town to , get a sim card, phone,open a bank account.
This Edmonton weather hasn't been doing me well.. It's so cold.... and im feeling unwell . I'm wonder how I will manage when the 'real winter' comes.

It used to be sweet to be in Naija shouting winter is coming, as per GOT fan.... But now eh, I no want the winter to come.
