That Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria 1988 pageant that Bianca won was rigged in her favor. Regina Askia was supposed to have won the contest. She was the audience favorite, the favorite of the journalists who covered the event and even the visiting delegate from Curacao, Joan Maynard, who was the reigning Miss Intercontinental at that time (she crowned Bianca three months later) had told journalists (prior to the contest) that Regina Askia stood head and shoulders over the rest of the contestants. The audience booed and protested at the verdict of the judges when she was crowned instead of Regina. Look at the pictures again, you will see Regina was way finer than Bianca.

I don't know if the pageant was rigged in her favour, but Bianca definitely won because she's light-skinned.
