While pensioners in Imo State are languishing in hunger, penury and ill-health as a result of several months of unpaid pension and frequent subjection to endless verifications exercises without pay, Gov. Okorocha is lavishing the Paris Club money meant for pension and salaries on building the tallest Xmas tree in Africa, Xmas park and moulding statues of people. Civil servants are being paid 70% of their salaries since 2015. It could be recalled that exactly this time 3 years ago, news broke that Okorocha spent 600m Naira building Xmas tree and decorating Owerri city. This year's spend is not yet known but I'm sure as hell it will rise.
