supporting Buhari is one thing, BUT to be an imbecilic fool while supporting him is way too much. soldiers died protecting the nation, over 100 of them. buhari and his band of thieves did not deem it fit to grace their burial (a national tragedy of colossal magnitude). and there are people here supporting him. 30k can go a long way to not just buy some people's conscience, but to replace it with that of a ZOMIE(in the true sense of the word). |

They only care for Fulani herdsmen, hence those soldiers are not Fulani, why should Buhari bother? |

supereagle:I am not holding brief for Atiku. It is people like you that believe the person fighting the opposition today in the name of fighting corruption has integrity. The Russian mob understand that the biggest theft in a country is not the theft of money but the theft of the Republic. Who stole our Republic in Nigeria in 1983? So, who has more integrity (or less depending on how you wish to look at it)? |

omonaijiria:to me id not an issue if mr president or his vice attend the funeral or not,the issue is our army generals are not helping matters federal govt.released money to them right from former president GEJ till date for weapons they only share the money among themselves leaving how soldiers with AK 47 to face terrorist that have all sorts of weapons like RPG machine guns that can release more than 200 hundreds bullet in one trigger if not for God and experience of our able soldiers by now the terrorist would have conquered every where,I fill so sorry to myself and other good ppl of nigeria, even those warming up for presidensy 2019 all are business folk who are going their for there loot I rest my case here God bless Nigeria. |

GlorifiedTunde:Boko Haram started growing during OBJ reign, went full blast during Yar'adua, became a problem during GEJ and is still with Buhari. Show us anyone of these past presidents at the burial of our slain soldiers. If that's not possible, show us even a representation by Atiku who was VP for 8 years. Dunno why you find it cheap yo attack Buhari, maybe it's because he is a man of few words and gentle nature. |

I just read a balanced view on punch where the presidency gave a response ........ But the Presidency recalled that the President condoled with the government and people of Borno State and also visited wounded soldiers, who were recuperating in the hospital after the Metele tragedy. The Presidency noted that by visiting Borno State and the wounded soldiers, Buhari had demonstrated enough leadership. It stated in its reaction on Saturday, “The loss of the gallant soldiers, as President Buhari has said, is a national loss, on account of which he went to Maiduguri where he condoled with the government and people of Borno State, addressed the troops at Maimalari Barracks as well as visited the convalescing gallant soldiers. “This was a clear case of sensitive and responsible leadership.” The Presidency drew a comparison with a similar incident that occurred in 2001 when Atiku was the vice-president to Obasanjo, saying neither of them showed any concern when troops were killed in Benue State. It stated, “On the other hand, however, when a similar number of troops (19 soldiers) were abducted and killed in October 2001, neither he (Atiku Abubakar) nor his boss, President Olusegun Obasanjo, paid any tributes, not to talk of visiting the grieving family members of the martyred soldiers. “Instead, they sent additional troops, who rounded up the people of the town and authorised an indiscriminate shooting as reprisals.” The Presidency further quoted a British Broadcasting Corporation report on the incident as stating, “In four ethnic-Tiv villages in Benue, soldiers rounded up and killed over 200 unarmed civilians. Zaki Biam, a town of about 20,000 people, was completely destroyed.” I hope all politicians including PMB and s ati Atiku learn from their past mistakes and say sorry when the need is sought |

Atiku need to stop being petty, and tell Nigerians what, if elected, he will do for Nigeria and Nigerians. Did Atiku attended the burial of soldiers and policemen killed in Odi, when he was the vice president of Nigeria? Trying to score cheap political points will do him no good. The burial of any military personnel in combat or off combat, is a purely military affairs. Major General Harold Greene, was killed in 5th August, 2014, in Afghanistan, by a Taliban soldier. He was buried at Arlington national cemetery in the US, Obama and Joe Biden, did not attend or grace the burial. The reason why every military personnel are apolitical. |
