For me, it is not wise to place bet on any team in the UCL by this time. Forms of teams change a lot before February that the knockout stage will start. If anything, the English teams lose a lot of form by that time due to the busy match schedule and the lack of Christmas break. Chelsea's case last season is an example. By this time last season, Chelsea looked like a team that could beat any team, but by February things changed. For me, I can't place this kind of bet by this time. Remember also that there is a transfer windows between this period.
