Canada embassy requested for my wife biometrics receipt which I have sent but is been 48hrs now without getting any message from them, my question is this- 1)How do I know they accepted what I sent? 2)Will they send a message to me to tell me if they're OK with what I sent? The receipt was sent perfectly as they directed in the letter that I should send it through mycic portal lieu, so I'm very sure they've seen it but my concerns is how to know if everything is OK now. |

Good morning my people. I am so deflated writing this. I need advice from the house please. My mum's TRV application was refused yesterday. Let me give background info to enable you understand if there is anything I did wrong. The intention was for her to accompany us as we travel to land as new PRs. I applied on the 25th of October with the following documents: 1. My bank statement showing balance of 4.5m 2. Mum's Tbill cert maturing this December with value of 1.1m plus another saving account with 600k balance. 3. Introduction letter from her school principal (she is a teacher with Anambra State Government) 4. Employment letter, posting letter, confirmation of appointment letter, promotion letter, payslip, 3 months salary account statement, e-tax card 5. Letter of invitation from me. In the letter, I stated that I am supporting her trip with the sum of 1.2m from the 4.5m balance in my acct. I also stated that she has been employed for 28 years, lives with my dad and siblings and will stay with us for 3 weeks before returning home 6. Her purpose of travel letter that stated that her job role, employer, number of children, activities in Nigeria, total fund available for the trip (total of C$10,340 - combination of the funds listed in 2 and 5 above) 7. Consent letter from my dad 8. My birth docs proving relationship, 9. My immigrant visa, COPR, and international passport 10. Photo 11. Application form, Family info form, marriage cert, educational certificates. 12. I didn't include flight reservation So to the main reason given on the letter was: 1. insufficient funds, income/assets. 2. Officer was not satisfied that she will come back to Nigeria after her visit because of her travel history (she has never traveled out of Nigeria) I am so confused, I don't know how to proceed from here. We really needed her to accompany us because I am 4 months pregnant and she wanted to help us with the stress of settling in cos of my active toddler, then come back much later next year when the baby arrives. I don't know if I should apply again afresh bearing in mind the short time we have to land in Canada (barely 1 month and 1 week) or raise a CSE with my new account balance of 6.2m plus her acct statement to appeal the decision (is this even doable). How do they expect her to leave her job, whole family behind, husband and 4 other children that live with her and abscond to Canada. Aren't those ties enough? Or is it that $10,340 is not enough for flight ticket and stay of 3 weeks? Gathering these docs again to reapply plus the stress is doing my head in. What are the chances that it won't get rejected again. Should we just go and land and then reapply when we settle so that she can come in summer next year for omugwo. My problem with this is that I won't be working immediately until my baby grows and I may not have salary or bank acct statement to show and also I would have converted all my funds here in Nigeria before we leave for Canada, so no Naija statement to show. Help me please. Any one. I am so confused. Thanks. mimimum: |

mimimum:Surprised! Everything here normally seems good oh. The budget however in my opinion seems rather too much for a 3-week visit, cut that down and reapply. Has she had a previous refusal from them or the US? Was information concealed somehow someway in the application? Regards |

Thanks for the response. I didn't hide anything at all. The only thing I didn't include in my letter is that I am pregnant. I didn't see the need to add that cos that wasn't exactly the purpose I was inviting her. When you say I should reduce the amount, won't that go against the reason for the refusal, seeing that they said there was insufficient funds/income/assets? I don't understand how 2.9m is insufficient for a 3 week visit. Do you think reapplying will make any sense? We were inviting her to accompany us and we are leaving 3rd week of January, if I reapply, the approval may not come out before then, won't that be another reason to refuse the application? And what other ties can she show? She has never applied for a visa before, so no rejection before this one. OmoBendel24: |

mimimum:NGN2.9m translates to how much CAD? What then is left of her resources, and what strain at the time would the NGN1.2m from you put in your landing process too? How can all her resources and part of yours be put into just a 3-week visit? Her ticket will not be more than $1500-2000. Living expenses, transport (maybe) and accommodation are on you so to speak. $2000-2500 should be enough for her PTA if not almost too much. Her budget shouldn't exceed $4000 in my opinion.... You can either let her sponsor herself with this budget, or you support her with 500k tops, let her have some good balance in her account after deduction of her budgeted figure for the trip. Meanwhile, you can go ahead and reapply immediately or be patient, go for her case's GCMS notes, land first and invite her for summer at least 2-3 months before your EDD. If you choose the second option, encourage and join her to build her account some more so as to enable her conveniently sponsor herself with a lesser budget and extra left in her account still. My 2Cents Will ask this very important question too; aside the balance she had in her two accounts, what was her transaction inflow and outflow like? Was there a lump sum deposit in her account at some point, especially close to the visa application time? |
| Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by mimimum: 4:54pm On Dec 15, 2018 |
Thanks again. I see the angle you are coming from. I didn't do a breakdown of the expenses she would incur, such as flight ticket and PTA. N2.9m came to a little over C$10k. It might appear that the whole funds in her account would be wiped as I didn't apportion cost to each aspect of the trip. The money I stated I was supporting her with is just a fraction of the funds in my account. It doesn't put a strain on my landing process at all. The account she presented is not one she uses regularly. The bulk funds there have been in the account since early 2017. She only tops it up monthly from her salary. No bulk transfer at all. The balance in my account has grown significantly since I applied. Do you think we stand a chance if I reduce the amount. Sorry for all the bother. I just want to get it right this time. The Visa Officer could read through your application that your mum was going to stay till you give birth. Travel, give birth and apply that she is coming for omugwo and she will get the visa. mimimum: |

Well, no where in the application was it stated that I am pregnant. It was never the intention. She has a full time job. She can't afford to be away for that long. tessytessy: |

The impression is that u want to sponsor her from your POF which will affect ur POF. Why not include your husbands SOA too. 4.5m seems small for a family to sponsor another person on my opinion. mimimum: |

Hello, please how long does take it for passport to be stamped with visa upon request by the embassy |
| Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by mimimum: 10:08pm On Dec 17, 2018 |
The thing is, the POF I presented in different accts during my application was already more than sufficient for a family of 3. It could cover a family of 5 sef. Moreover, the balance in the acct has increased from when I presented it for my PR application. The balance is over 6m now. Is that sufficient now? I want to fully sponsor her now. I was only supporting before. emeify: |

mimimum:Everything looks good, and I think she stands a chance about now still, with a reduced budget for the trip. Best option however remains going back to the drawing board, land first and settle in, then invite her for summer. Don’t forget to ensure her account is decent and improved upon, and keep budget simple. |
| Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by mimimum: 10:29am On Dec 18, 2018 |
Thanks a lot. I think i'll take the risk and apply again with a reduced budget of $5k as you advised. One more question please, that portion of the application form that asks funds available for the trip, is the total money in my account that I presenting plus her own funds (in CAD) or is it the 5k budgeted sum? | Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by tessytessy(f): 12:33pm On Dec 18, 2018 |
You should only include funds that will be spent on the trip. My advice to you would be to travel, then apply for her. They might sense desperation in an immediate re application, when there was no obvious error on your part. mimimum: |

Juxen:Do biometrics once and you have achieved it till the next ten years. Note biometric doesn't guarantee visa it only guarantees that your data has been captured. |
