Kingsley Moghalu

One of our key strategies to end poverty is to speedily address the illiteracy & skill-gap.
We will strengthen the educational system to produce human capital that is competitive for an economy led by innovation (not by crude oil). We will move school curriculum towards technology, science, skills, and entrepreneurship. Young people will learn to be more innovative, creative and original. We will invest in educational infrastructure by moving the budget from 7 - 20 percent. We will establish skills centers and have our young people learn a skill in a modern way, which makes them more easily employable or better able to employ themselves. Now, this is a plan, not promises. #VoteKingsleyMoghalu #ItisTime

KINGSLEY MOGHALU HAS THE MOST SUPERIOR ECONOMIC PLAN – PwC Chief

In a critical economic analysis by Andrew S. Nevin, PhD, a leading global thinker and an Advisory Partner and Chief Economist at PwC, a massive superiority rating was given to the plans and economic policies of Professor Kingsley Moghalu, over other presidential candidates.

Andrew Nevin said ‘Prof. Kingsley Moghalu has the most incisive analysis of our unsustainable fiscal regime and is willing to face up to our looming debt crises’. He said Moghalu candidly diagnosed that our current system of crony capitalism cannot work, therefore needs to be changed.

Kingsley Moghalu also rightly recognizes that we need rural Nigeria to prosper if we are going to succeed. 53% of Nigerians live in rural areas and it is not sufficient for just Lagos, Kano, Port Harcourt, and Kaduna to do well … we need all of Nigeria to do well.

Apart from major overhaul and reforms in key sectors like health, education, and power, Moghalu outlined five critical policies that will have positive impact on reversing Nigeria’s decline:

Partial privatization of the NNPC in the ratio of 49%:51%, with a listing on the NSE; which will dramatically improve governance and transparency at the NNPC, as well as allowing ordinary Nigerians to own part of the oil wealth. At the same time, it gives a chance to give some of the shares to communities where the oil is actually produced.

Professor Moghalu also rightly posits the ‘Abolition of the Land Use Act’; that without well-regulated property rights in land, we will never be able to grow our economy. He also postulates the ‘Elimination of Fuel Subsidy’; says subsidizing people who like to drive like Nigerians cannot be the right policy.

Another key driver of his ‘Moghalunomics’ is the ‘Engagement of the Diaspora’. He says what is keeping Nigeria afloat today is not oil, but the diaspora remittances; and he has a clear program to engage what is our most critical export at the moment.

And finally, Moghalu is also courageous enough to face up squarely to the Federal/State Restructuring issue. He said at least 30 of 36 States are economically not viable as they are, so only a restructuring that reduces the economic units can work for us. He said any manifesto that does not face up to the hard reality will mean we continue getting poorer and poorer.
