No one has a right to judge, but you have to admit Mbaka has made lots of political false starts.

Enugu Catholic Bishop, Most. Rev. Callistus Onaga, has said the Catholic Church would enforce strict compliance to the directives by Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) that Catholic priests should not get involved in endorsement of candidates ahead of the 2019 general elections.

Bishop Onaga, who made the assertion while delivering his Christmas message at a press conference in Enugu, said, “The habit of some clergy men making predictions and showing partisanship in the way they preach at the altar has been stopped.

“The clerics shouldn’t engage in political prophecies on who wins or loses.”

The Bishop also urged Christians to extend love to all, even their enemies as well as the less privileged.

He, however, expressed concern over what he described as grave socio-political and economic situation prevalent in the country, saying that the country was sitting on a brink of extinction.

Bishop Onaga charged Nigerians to pray hard and to use the opportunity of Christmas celebration to seek God’s intervention in the land in order to avert the wicked plans of the devil against the country.

“In Nigeria today, you are all aware that things are going helter-skelter, not to just exaggerate; things are not going well. It will be wrong for anybody to say things are going well in Nigeria. Both politicians, men of God, businessmen, and all kinds of moguls know that Nigeria is sitting on the brink of extinction.

“And we are praying to God that 2019 will give us some hope. And I know; I believe that God loves Nigeria, something will happen.

“So, my dear people let us use the Christmas of this year to ask God to continue to lead us to the land of hope that we are moving to,” he said.

Smart, but the reality is we can't continue sitting on the current economic indices. Poverty is the number one cause of instability. Things must change to retain order in the society else even him will experience the violence to come.

E dey pain them. I am sure if Mbaka had prophesied against PMB/Osibanjo the catholic church would have kept quiet but because it went against one of their members in the name of Peter Obi they've showed concern and started banning such act.

Though i don't like men of God if they're meddling into politics.

But have they condemned Bishop Oyedepo, Apostle Suleman, Bishop Mathew Kuka that keep on aligning with PDP and Atiku/Obi to the point of preaching and encouraging their members to vote PDP in the pulpit always, the just ended SHILOH was one of the examples by Bishop Oyedepo.

Even Pastor Ayodele that said God revealed to him that Saraki will be the next president come 2019, did Saraki even win the PDP primaries to start with.
Can back your theory with events of 2015 where he declared support for PMB.

The article of catholic bishops he want to enforce, was it not made before 2018.

Do not take parochialism into 2019.

How can a sane human being back up a claim by posting a youtube link of himself swiming with his girlfriends. On a serious matter like this.

This is exactly what the bishop said we must improve or get ready for distruction. And you are still inside the church, pray you come out alive.

The Bishop ended up campaign against Buhari in favour of another. Humans are political in nature.

They should be bold and outrightly ex communicate Reverend Mbaka because he is the only one doing that nonsense in the Catholic church I know... The Nigerian Catholic church has rubbished itself in the mud of politics over the years , we remember how the Catholic church clearly took sides with Buhari in the 2015 elections and see where that has left Nigerians today
Serious, I just came back from crusade held in adoration by Mbaka, we catholics in Enugu state are solidly behind him , anybody can make mistakes but not everyone can swallow pride and apologize, which he has done.

I personally was telling my friends and colleagues that GEJ will loose..., It was obvious if you are following Nigerian politics. Five govs left PDP including Kano that has more population. corruption here and there unchallenged... And some people are linking it to spiritual prophecy whatever. Mtcheeeew!!

Catholic church never took side with buhari. It was Fr Mbaka who supported Buhari. Fr. Mbaka is not the mouth piece of the catholic church

No man is “the solution” to Nigeria’s problems. It’ll be naive to expect people to believe that.
