If your efforts to understand what's going on in the world don't account for the fact that extremely powerful people are waging an aggressive campaign to manipulate the information you use to inform yourself, your understanding of the world will necessarily be flawed.
Is this supposed to make sense? sad

E dey pain them. I am sure if Mbaka had prophesied against PMB/Osibanjo the catholic church would have kept quiet but because it went against one of their members in the name of Peter Obi they've showed concern and started banning such act.

Though i don't like men of God if they're meddling into politics.

But have they condemned Bishop Oyedepo, Apostle Suleman, Bishop Mathew Kuka that keep on aligning with PDP and Atiku/Obi to the point of preaching and encouraging their members to vote PDP in the pulpit always, the just ended SHILOH was one of the examples by Bishop Oyedepo.

Even Pastor Ayodele that said God revealed to him that Saraki will be the next president come 2019, did Saraki even win the PDP primaries to start with.
The Catholic bishops are concern with their own first before any other if the need arise

They should be bold and outrightly ex communicate Reverend Mbaka because he is the only one doing that nonsense in the Catholic church I know... The Nigerian Catholic church has rubbished itself in the mud of politics over the years , we remember how the Catholic church clearly took sides with Buhari in the 2015 elections and see where that has left Nigerians today
This is a joke, excommunication in the catholic church is not child's play, it is guided by exant canon law, infact even if mbaka flouts this rule, he will be disciplined but not excommunicated.
the catholic bishop conference of nigeria is not political.

You said Mbaka is the only one doing that nonsese and turn around to say it the entire catholic church of of more than 30 million in Nigeria took side in 2015 in another sentence.

Can you make your point without bias to yourself. Are you a christian?
He was actually wrong to have said the Catholic Church took side with Buhari. Though the body language of some prominent Catholic bishops from the north could give anyone reasons to think so. Examples are Cardinal Onaiyekan and Bishop Kukah. They were anti-GEJ and pro-Buhari in 2015.

I'm sorry to say this, the guy was right! I'm a baptised Catholic, apart from those you mentioned above even Cardinal Olubunmi Okogie spoke vehemently against GEJ in favour of Buhari in the run up to the 2015 elections.

The Bishop has just spoken politically by saying:
1. Nigeria is at the brink of extinction
2. Things are going helter skelter
3. Things are not going well

Mbaka, see ur life! I used to respect this man, and respected him even more when he correctly predicted Jonathan's fall and Buhari's victory with emphasis on Buhari being god-sent. But when Buhari swiftly turned devil-sent, I just started feeling that Mbaka doesn't hear from my God of Israel, Isaac, Jacob and Benjamin.

Nwaforj44:
Enugu Catholic Bishop, Most. Rev. Callistus Onaga, has said the Catholic Church would enforce strict compliance to the directives by Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) that Catholic priests should not get involved in endorsement of candidates ahead of the 2019 general elections.

Bishop Onaga, who made the assertion while delivering his Christmas message at a press conference in Enugu, said, “The habit of some clergy men making predictions and showing partisanship in the way they preach at the altar has been stopped.

“The clerics shouldn’t engage in political prophecies on who wins or loses.”

The Bishop also urged Christians to extend love to all, even their enemies as well as the less privileged.

He, however, expressed concern over what he described as grave socio-political and economic situation prevalent in the country, saying that the country was sitting on a brink of extinction.

Bishop Onaga charged Nigerians to pray hard and to use the opportunity of Christmas celebration to seek God’s intervention in the land in order to avert the wicked plans of the devil against the country.

“In Nigeria today, you are all aware that things are going helter-skelter, not to just exaggerate; things are not going well. It will be wrong for anybody to say things are going well in Nigeria. Both politicians, men of God, businessmen, and all kinds of moguls know that Nigeria is sitting on the brink of extinction.

“And we are praying to God that 2019 will give us some hope. And I know; I believe that God loves Nigeria, something will happen.

“So, my dear people let us use the Christmas of this year to ask God to continue to lead us to the land of hope that we are moving to,” he said.

Catholic Church took side in 2015? Where did that happen? Was there a memo or a communique from Bishop's conference soliciting support for Buhari in 2015? Do you know what it means to say that Catholic Church as an institution solicited for support and backed Buhari s candidacy? Individual voices do not represent the Church's voice. If the Church will talk, there is an avenue she talks from.

Kukah supported Buhari and opposed Jonathan? What gilberrish! You don't know what you are saying. I am 100% sure you weren't conscious of whose side Kukah was. Onaiyekan criticised bad governance but rooted for no one, you can check your record. He told no one to vote Buhari. The only prominent Catholic voice that seemed to endorse Buhari was emeritus Bishop of Lagos, Cardinal Okogie and that is why he has probably been at the fore front in opposing this government. Maybe he realised the need to make amend.
