Watch How Nigeria Was Once Respected By America, What Went Wrong?

Look at the pumps and pageantry Nigeria was once revered in America. Today, our presidents visit America unnoticed.

The snap and have hand shakes with American president and it's celebrated and made a campaign achievement. Rochas Okorocha shook Obama and erected a bill board in Omo.

I ask again, what went wrong?

Can we ever return to this height?

Northern Nigeria abandoned their God given Agriculture and start claiming right over Niger delta crude oil.

Until Northern Nigeria political leadership retrace their foot steps back and go back to Agriculture which Sir Ahmadu Bello encouraged them to invest in to grow their own internal revenue northern Nigeria will continue to sink down not only the north but the entire country.

Naive people, The same America that ''respected'' you went behind your back and winched you, using their intelligence agencies to impose the leaders who succeeded Balewa, like OBJ.... Mugu people. I wonder when you will wake up and realise that those western nations you love and worship so much do not necessarily have your best interests in mind.

The olden days seemed pure and blissful, until things gradually got out of hand and we Nigerians ultimately reverse-evolved to animals. Quite sad.

As I look to the past with nostalgic longing, I also sadly look to the future with forlorn hope.

Pdp started their reign in 1999. If you think Nigeria became a shitthole in 1999, just stop talking and learn from your elders.
The military handing over of power to democratically elected PDP government was a huge opportunity to rebuild Nigeria. 16 years in a life of a nation is massive.

PDP started with bribing delegates at their primaries. A PDP president introduced financial inducement into NASS. PDP-dominated NASS connived with PDP government not only to inflate budgetary allocations but intimidated ministers and head of agencies to part with money during oversight visits. PDP government budgeted billions of dollars for power and another billions under late Tony Anenih led Min of works, PDP privatised government owned institutions, which are strangely moribund today, etc, etc

Now, every other countries are very harsh on Nigerians.

Every day tribalism, ritualism,cultism,killings,looting... Other countries do read about Nigeria, so with all that had been happening, if you were a president of one of those countries, would you be kind to Nigerians? wouldn't you scrutinize them?

Giant of Africa.

So biafra won the war and the respect and admiration of the world, right?

So why is biafra still a pipe dream?

Biafra would have been no better than South Sudan if the aim was achieved. Not everyone has moved on from the civil war, maybe the next two generations will completely put it behind them and chart a way forward for themselves.

As of 1961, only very few countries in the Southern hemisphere had better prospects than us. Dubai and others were villages.

Singapore & Malaysia were on about same footing as us.

Imagine Wole Soyinka(*when he was younger) as president of Nigeria, definitely US would treat him with respect

pdp actually started the rebuilding of Nigeria.
We started making progress in 1999.

The military messed up Nigeria so much, and wasted our oil money by embezzling it massively, and incured debts so high.
Instability was the order of the day.

It was pdp under NOI that got debt cancellation and allowed you to start on a clean sheet.

It was pdp that created the EFCC, ICPC, SEC, and many fundamental agencies driving Nigeria today.
It was under pdp that our middle class started to grow compared to the massive improverishment nflicted on the masses by utterly corrupt military regimes.
Pdp was not perfect, but compared to the military era, they were saints.

You don't know where you are coming from, how do you know where you are going to?

The civil war was where Nigeria lost it. When a small ,
Unprepared biafran enclave with only 17 rifles brutalized what was supposedly the military of the giant of Africa backed by Britain ,Soviet union ,east Germany ,Egypt ,Ireland ,Sudan ,Niger ,Chad, cameroon , Arab world etc for30 months ,so much so that Soviet union was embarrassed by the ineptitude of Nigerian military and Nigeria had no option but rely on non combatant tactics of starving women and children also justifying it with the saying that all was fair in war.
It came to a height when the poorly armed biafrans wiped out 90% of the second division with an improvised, locally made ogbunigwe operated by a battalion led by a major uchendu in a small town of Abagana south eastern Nigeria.

Nigeria won the battle but lost the war . And lost it's respect and reputation before the world .

Biafra lost the battle but won the respect, admiration and a dignified reputation before the world.

Nigeria is not the only country that had military intervention in their polity. Many of those countries have made tremendous progress. So that's an excuse for mismanaging our oil earnings and resources for 16 years. Securing debt cancellaton on one hand and looting the national on the other is simply counterproductive. If PDP goverment had done the right thing by controy its PDP governors and legislators, there would be little need for EFCC, and ICPC. PDP enthroned corruption and made it a monarch.

It appears you are still suffering from a post-war syndrome..Ojukwu who lead your bandits to war and his responsible for the deaths of millions of biafrans eventually dined with the Federal Republic Of Nigeria before his death, his wife now works for the government of Nigeria.

Nigeria won both the battle and the war, so my dear, deal with it and stop crying over spilled milk

Moreso, the Nigerian state is too complex and inter-twined for a few bunch of miscreants to want to fight an already lost war...any attempt will be suicidal, be warned...I know you would want to mention how boko-haram is rattling the military but may I remind you that the boko-haram is a political tool.

Wake up from your slumber, Chuckwudi will not leave his lucrative spare-part business in Lagos to come and die for a lost course...why would he do that when all his family reside in Lagos and they only visit the village for Christmas and New Year.

But wait this Government and political parties are made up of human beings right See their faces now, just like their wicked heart...Wickedness greed and lack of common sense by the Blackman. Look now Google and Mark Zuckerberg are making plans to build free internet in some parts of Nigeria while APC keeps blaming PDP for their invisible projects. PDP on the other hand can clear national debt of millions of dollars was paying their workers minimum wage of 19,800. After una loot finish una use national debt close our mouth... na so them Dey always work their invisible projects. Well the major problem here are these idiots supporting APC and PDP shouting “Buhari worked railroad, Jonathan built Universities, Jonathan work road, Obasanjo clear national debt” Go and look at other oil producing countries and see what they call a functioning Government now. As at late 90’s early 2000’s or so lost of 3rd world countries included Malaysia, China, Nigeria, Dubai and co now how far and you’re here shouting this one did this this one did that. Youths open your eyes, make una day use una head... These men have no good plans for us period both Obasanjo Atiku Both PDP APC and all their supporters. Evil humans they are

What went wrong is when Buhari came in 1983 as military and 2015 as civilian.

But mostly is the gullibility of Nigerians and the politics of hatred.

The north has 82% blame of the status quo. They are the problem of the south.

Without the north, southern Nigeria as a country will be the pride of Africa.
