For heavens sake, you are all saying the same thing angry

Keep quiet, Mr instigator.

Pele oooo.

Omo aje butter.
Perhaps you failed to get why I credited his comment because I didn't highlight it.

[b]It's not so different and tribalism, to me, seems even worse because it's coming from your own countryman[\b]

I have no interest in any arguments this night.
Mr Aje butter, hope you get my point now.

TF? BP should not have been even on the shortlist for best drama at all. It was just put there because of relevancy on the part of the awards. The Globes messed up on that one. Commercial success should never be used to judge movies. Black Panther was average. The only reason it got so much traction is its relevance in today's conversation. If we want to talk about award yardstick (story/script, portrayal of characters, directing e.t.c), BP was nothing special as most superhero movies are. And our aunties and uncles in the abroad who think those at home cannot relate to racism, lol. Na English be the problem. Tribalism and racism are basically discriminations. Those of us here face tribalism while those outside face racism. It's not so different and tribalism, to me, seems even worse because it's coming from your own countryman.
Eh not quite, cut from the same cloth, yes, but still different enough. With racism you have you have an oppressed minority, tribalism is more a case of groups of tribes not liking each other who can get in the way of each other, sure but it’s not on the same scale and they don’t have the kind of power over a minority like the black-white dynamic

Despite their similarities though you’d be surprised how willingly ignorant a lot of Nigerians are on the subject. So if you understand it that’s great but there’s a whole lot of Nigerians who genuinely actually don’t and those are the ones we’re referring to and it’s evident by their comments

Of course both are different but they are both discriminatory and I just think if you can understand that you might be able to grasp racism to an extent. I just wanted to point out that there are some people out there in this part of the world who understand racism. Thank you for understanding. Cherrio.

What does "its not so different" imply?

They are both discriminatory but racism (in the case of white v black) is more insidious. And the guy that you quoted said that tribalism is worse. If only he understood how deep the systematic destruction of the black race was in the past.

You even went to argue that tribalism is worse. It shows you don't know what racism is.

Lol yeah you didn’t necessarily say they were the same but your post kind of implied the effects of both were on an identical scale. Lol we know they’re both discriminatory,.we’re also aware that there are Nigerians who understand it so...we’re obviously referring to the ones who don’t?

Lol I thought it was just me getting this from his post, as per a ‘there’s not that much of a difference so why all the noise’ vibe. If that’s not what he meant fair enough but that’s how it came across

Lmao I actually generally hate dubbed animes

But I grew up watching the dubbed dragonball z (not by choice, it was on tv) so I’m just used to the accents now, any other voice sounds off cheesy

1. Taylor Swift sings country music. When I hear country music, I think of racist hillbillies. Just a personal bias on my part. There is nothing wrong with country music. Also, a lot of blacks do not listen to country music. grin grin

2. She sings about her dramatic break ups and fake dramatic life. Too autobiographical for my liking

3. She can't dance, she is pale white......she sings a song that is mainly consumed by white......she is just too white

4. Kanye West made that bitc* famous.

There is nothing too white about the lady's music. She sings about what goes on in her life. From her relationship troubles to her rivalry with Katy perry. To me she is very original and sings her mind. Her music are not the kind you listen too and dance to it. Her music are intense and reflects her mood, just like Adele. Kanye West didn't make her popular, she was already popular right from her Taylor swift album( tear drop on my guitar). Her type of song might not sit right with the black audience. Blacks are always known for 'gangster' or something vulgar, loud type of music. That's why when people like Adele , Sam smith or Elli goulding wins Grammy awards the black would say it is biased.
Above all Taylor swift is a beautiful musician

Like I said earlier, I don't want to be drawn into any argument this night.
I will rather re-watch John wick.

Leave the past in the past.

Hope you know that you can avoid being racially abused by choosing to sitting your ass down in your country and not venture into racism prone areas?

Imagine being segregated in your own motherland, a country where you originated from, a country which your ancestors were part of the foundation.

Between neighbors calling you a black sheep and your own family calling you a black sheep.
Which will you take to heart?

If you are denied a job opportunity in America for being a black man and being denied a job opportunity in Nigeria for being from a certain region of the country.
Which will be more painful?
Please tell me which is worse?

Let me go and continue my John wick.

The past affects the present. Centuries of racism do not just disappear. Have you ever asked yourself why Nigerian lawyers wear wig and cloak in the burning heat of Nigerian sun?

Also, abeg try and leave the pako life. Try taking a holiday abroad. grin grin

Exactly what I was saying.

There are many holiday destinations in Nigeria but you are advising me to go abroad as if that is the route to the kingdom of God.

If I decide to heed your advice now and get racially abused during my holiday.
Whose fault is that?

Sit your ass down and build your country.
That's how the Chinese were able to command the world's respect.

I resemble mountaineer? You want me to go and climb Olumo rock in the name of Nigerian holiday destination?
Or you want me to catch disease from Ikegosi warm spring?

Jokes apart, many Nigerians have business and family abroad in the West. They have no choice but to travel
