D.O Fagunwa. His book predated the emergence of literary icon in Nigeria. Wole Soyinka and other read him as school pupils. His style, though in Yoruba, is similar to legendary epic book such as Harry Porter, Odesius, and Lord of the rings that has found way to movies. The source of his inspiration and power of imagination still remain a mystery to many.

I believe the man was mystically inspired to write those books

I read ogboju ode ninu Igbo irunmole and Igbo eledumare just some days to Xmas for the first time,I never knew what made me read them this but was glad I did,I learnt a lot of morals from the book.I never believed that there is a place called Igbo eledumare.

The Igbo is real? Wow!

The book is by far the best book ever written. As it was witty, fascinating, so did it teach high level morals with its expound spice of comedy. Times when I get bored, I re-read a page in the first chapter where he narrated the ordeal of Akara-Ogun - his neck was stretched, arms short, and as such the food supposed to get to his mouth gets gutted by his neck.... If you have the book, follow it hook to dinner, and as the narrator said, imagine yourself to be Akara-Ogun, the thrill you will get will be inexplicable.
Bottomline, the novel remains the best for me

I knew nothing about this period... but found it very interesting.... and I'm surprised to learn those that read the book didn't know the place actually existed....thanks to you! No doubt...they are now motivated to follow your footsteps and pay a visit...oh well... those that are brave enough!
I do agree with you 100%....schools should have yours there...but then at least the State should have it as a State Park.... well maintained with toilet facilities....trash bins.. rest areas etc. A small entrance fee can make it finance itself....but......who really cares?....great potential site unexplored....which way forward? Thanks again!....and thanks to those who edited/added to the narrative.

Must you tagged them a skull miner? To answer your question, Just like the Christians see their supreme being as God. The adherents of African traditional religion in the Yoruba setting hold this belief that their supreme being is Oludamare. Some scholars believed the word Olodumare is the Yoruba translation of English word God. Still debatable though. Good work OP.

The pronunciation differs caused I guess you are from the East. The word "Igbo" in this context means forest and not Igbo as a tribe.
