There's no civilian airport in Makurdi and the military airport (NAF base) was closed for a while, so Lobi Stars' matches were moved to Enugu, which has a functioning airport.

They played against a Cameroonian team in the preliminary round and they had to move the match to Enugu when the Cameroonian team were refused landing rights at Makurdi Air Force Base.

However, the Chief of Air Staff visited the Air Force Base (they showed the visit on the NTA News today) and announced that it will soon be opened to civilian aircraft again.
