sogodihno:I haven't been to Bayelsa. But I've stayed in Edo for years, particularly in Benin. What exactly makes Edo better? The 3-6hrs light per day? Or the pothole infested roads? Just a little rain and you'd need a boat. I'm telling you there's nothing good about that state. The cost of living is high Insecurity is at its peak.. This is a first hand experience. What I've seen. And saying Delta state is one of the worst states. I laugh. That's my state. I visit there on a regular. I'm glad you didn't compare Edo with Delta. That would have been utter madness. The only edge Lagos has over Delta is the exposure to ports, and the fact that it's the entertainment hub of the nation so you're most likely to be successful there. But that's where it stops. The road to my village there in Delta is tarred to my doorstep. And so many villages. Rural electrification is at its best. If anything, you do not joke with Delta when it comes to roads. It has lots of motorable roads. Way more than Lagos. I stay in Lagos too so I know what I'm saying. Lagos is only a fragment of Delta, still Delta has managed to develop itself although it doesn't earn as much as Lagos. Lol. Go to Edo that you're praising today. Go and see the place called Five Junction in Benin. A place where Adams spent almost a billion naira on. No streetlight. No drainage. No nothing. Potholes everywhere. I can't even begin to go on. So when you say PDP is "Poverty Development Party, it's obvious you don't know what you speak of. I've been to many PDP controller states and these states are thriving well. |

HeyCorleone:We have more than 2 candidates and have had more than 2 candidates on the ballot in Lagos so please explain to me what Tinubu to make sure that 20 million Lagosians vote for and elect his preferred candidate? Tinubu only can influence votes within his own party same way party leaders in other parties influence votes within their ranks, but Tinubu cannot prevent Lagosians from voting for PDP or non-APC candidates so if Lagosians are constantly voting for the APC, it means Lagosians are not interested in the PDP or any other party so in what way is Tinubu preventing Lagosians from voting for the PDP? Obviously, Lagosians prefer the APC and it has nothing to do with Tinubu. |

Adebowale89:The same people will do anything just to come to Lagos..... Coming to Lagos is like going to Canada.. I guess their states is inhabitable.. Pls kindly help me ask them... Wetin dey for their states? Are they not collecting allocation? Can't they generate revenue to develop their states? They are waiting for federal government to come and develop their their states for them... Always complaining, wailing.... As if na only them dey for this country |

HeyCorleone:we both know u are insincere, maybe it is another Delta u are referring to, the development in that place doesn't commensurate the high allocation they receive. |

sogodihno:What exactly is Delta lacking? Be clear please. You just pick a few communities and use it to generalise the whole state. I doubt if you've ever stepped foot in the state. Don't just come online and be making stupid points. |

sogodihno:James Ibori was Delta State best governor, despite looting the state dry. He tarred most of the roads you see in Delta state today. His successors, Uduaghan and Okowa have done nothing but loot and share the state resources to traditional rulers, militant leaders,PDP chieftains and left the rest of Delta state residents outside this circle to fend for themselves. |
| Re: Lagos Gov Debate: State’s Commonwealth In One Person’s Hand —Owolabi Salis by sogodihno: 1:35am On Jan 14, 2019 |
HeyCorleone:Delta is a dry state, commodities are unnecessarily high and no commerce to complement this price hike. And the road too is average at best, their governors has loot the state dry. |

sogodihno:False assertions. Pure guess work. Like I said, it's glaringly obvious that you haven't set foot in the state. You just threw it as an example to make a point that had no head. |

halhassan1:Here is where you get it wrong... lagos is bigger than the few of you feeding off the crumbs from his table. It is not everyone that will work at TVC or the Nation or any of his hotel, does it mean they dont deserve equal opportunities in the same lagos.... Lagos is not for the few but everyone. He gives you 1 and collects 100000, thats not helping. its not stealing, its wickedness in high places |

HeyCorleone:Dont mind these cows, they hardly travel outside their states but make commwnts as if they have. The best and fastest developongvstate in the North East is Gombe, Ran by a PDP governor Dankwambo. He did so well Gombe is now aheadbof Kaduna interms of new state owned infrastructures. Taraba is also catching up with great quality road infrstructures too. in the North Central thesame thing Plateau is number one now. Since APC took over Kaduna, not a single new road can be seen, just propaganda on the media, not a single thing to show. reaso, why most kaduna people are not happy with the imp. All the npise you hear or heard about Kano was done by kwankwaso under the PDP. The very moment they left and decamped tp the APC they dis as they pleased and not care. Right now what we now have is extreme looting sprees and nonchalant cos they feel Buhari followership. and rigging would see them through. In the south East, the best governors are in Ebonye and Enugu, rhese guys are thrown up by the same PDP. the best governor ever from the East since 1999 till date is peterObi. where is he nw? the PDP. Akpabio they want to brag about did his best whike in the PDP. but these cows cant see reason. I remember the last election most of them knew Agbaje was the best candidates, he even.won.the debates. but out of cheer hatred for IBos the rather remain in bondage to Tinubu. The man knw them too well just sell them an idea so and so are Igbos trying to dorminate them in lagos and they switxh to.over drive with sentiments. Hahaha e no concern us, whike the North are catching up, South East and Soutb south are gradually consolidating, The South West are breedibg and churning out Garage touts and thugs. Was in Ilesha last year, and was not even allowed to move freely cos young boys have taken to cultism and thugry. Other sections are going to school and advancing the Yorubas are embrasing thugs and touts. Hehehe weti. concern us? no be them go still hear am? |

Meritocracy:After 20yrs of Tinubu’s dynasty, can turn ur tap and get good drinkable water from LASG Water Co? After 20 years can you be treated in LASG hospital where CT Scan, MRI, Mammogram Machines are fully deployed? Can you call emergency services like fire and they show up in 30mins with functioning equipment, water and fire retardants?? |

Sleekfingers:they will wail till dey commit suicide. there is no human that leave his own life and spend 24hrs talking about another person life that progress rather the person they're talking about we maintained his focus hence why Lagos is progressing and their region is retrogressing looking like third war region, yet Lagos need to be free but abia need another damager(PDP) to look at the affairs of the state. dem won turn southwest to their undeveloped region, never. I never feel sorry for this people, average of them have psychological problem |

BigIyanga:I have personally called the Lagos Fire Service in Alausa twice, and they showed up in minutes - once I called, the second time, I ran there to get help, and they immediately rushed to the scene (while I tagged along for a ride. Fashola deployed a lot of fire hydrants around the axis I stayed - can't confirm if they work though cos I haven't seen them in use. LASUTH did get better in all fairness, even though it can be better; I have a neighbour who workes there - even if he dislikes APC, he is always talking about how LASUTH can hold it's own against any private hospital in Lagos. My current HMO - Axa Mansard lists LASUTH on its silver plan - that's saying something about the quality of care. As someone who grew up in Water compound under millitary rule, I would tell you for free that getting pipe-borne water to the whole of Lagos is not an easy task. The main water-works pump water for a state of 20m+ from Ogun river through the Iju and Adiyan water-works. The sheer amount of money spent on diesel to pump water even back then was so ridiculous, they had to ration how they pumped the water. Not to talk of water treatment, and distribution. Then in the course of distribution, there is a great deal of vandalism by people who do not want to pay for water, and then of course, how many home owners pay for water? Where I lived before my current place for 17 years straight was fed by LSWC with pipe-borne water, and with the exception of an average of 2 weeks outage every other 3 years, we never lacked for water. For housing, it might interest you to know that I bought my first apartment through Lagos HOMS when I was in my twenties; for this alone, I'm loathe to go against APC - unless things get really out of hand. Anyone that bought an apartment under Fashola would tell you it was VERY transparent. Infrastructure under Fashola in my own experience was increasingly better - I could drive from my office on the Island all the way to my home on the mainland, and barely encounter a pot-hole. Public Works proactively fixed potholes almost as soon as they appeared. Street-lights legit work in my neighbourhood, and LASTMA has to a very large extent managed traffic creditably well. I'm willing to cede that Ambode was a regrettable mistake, and hope Sanwoolu would be much better. |

HeyCorleone:Has Agbaje put in the work to beat Tinubu? Has he actively canvassed the poor masses to his side, or has he only focused on preaching to a largely converted middle-class population? If Tinubu's crime is that he has done a lot of grassroots work in his over 20 years in Lagos politics, what is stopping the opposition from doing same? What is Agbaje's vision for Lagos in clear words, and can it be distilled in simple terms to illiterate market women? Has Agbaje gone beyond the pages of newspapers, social media, and television interviews to interact with Lagos' grassroots? Is there a vibrant PDP in every ward in Lagos? Are you an active member of your party? Is there an ongoing engagement of voters post-election season? |

These people won't stop assuming and guessing. Lagos, the dirtiest city in Africa is the image of Africa? Lagos' tiny influence starts and ends in West Africa. Cotonou is now positioned to displace Lagos as the commercial hub of West Africa. |

fantasticone1:It's depressing, this long leg, godfather mess got to stop. We're the problem of this state and country. When people collect rice, money, and all sorts of things during election from selfish candidates. Few months later, same people will start complaining, cursing and saying things, how do you expect your prayers to be answered, your voice to get to them after collecting bribes. We really need to face hunger for a day and eat better food tomorrow. Government are working for us, we should stand against those using it for their benefits. |
