Nigerian + Vietnamese hackers re-writting code already to divert all deliveries to a particular address and premium parcels will be no where to be found.

Nice development though.

Our govt should give us 24/7 electricity first. Ordinary Senegal enjoys light.

All our presidents has failed this country.

I will agree when it comes to Nigeria and carry bags of beans and cows from the core North and deliver down east, south and West. Else, it remains exclusively from oyibos to the oyibos and for the oyibos.

When Nigeria's singer Asa sang in a commercial song for a top bank in Nigeria that "Welcome to the future", not many know that the future is here...

German automative firm continental unveiled a concept delivery system at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, tapping the help of robotics company ANYbotics. The system uses four-legged robot dogs to hop in and out of its driverless delivery vans, carrying packages right up to someone’s door.

The concept combines continental‘s completely autonomous robo-taxi, called the ‘CUbE’, and ANYbotics‘ quadrupedal robots that can open doors and ride elevators. The van carries these robot dogs until it arrives at the correct destination, sending them out through the back door of the car to drop the package off at the recipient’s doorstep.

Continental showed off what this would be like at CES with a pretty impressive demo. The robot dog started out by jumping out of the van, before making its way over the garden in front of a model home and clambering up the set of stairs to the door. The dog then removes the package from its back and place it onto the front porch, before ringing the fake doorbell with one of its arms.

Continental believes the concept system could improve the efficiency of last-mile delivery in the future. ‘With the help of robot delivery, Continental’s vision for seamless mobility can extend right to your doorstep,’ said Ralph Lauxmann, head of continental’s systems & technology, chassis & safety division. ‘Our vision of cascaded robot delivery leverages a driverless vehicle to carry delivery robots, creating an efficient transport team.’

At the moment this is still just a future ambition. Continental doesn’t plan to roll out the robo-delivery dogs or the driverless van concept anytime soon.

In the next 100 years, just like I said last year, there'd be less human efforts in service deliveries as most of the jobs would be taken over by robots.

Whereas in Nigeria this day and age, all we know how to do best is better explained in the below pictures .

I diaagree, yes it may start out expensive but that's why these people are different from us, creating a solution is often just the 1st step for them they'll definitely keep making research till it becomes affordable

Well you do have a point, but not everything gets less expensive with time. A robot that can deliver mails for instance is a top notch technology that requires the most of advanced of tech know-how, maintaining the system it runs on, mechanical wear, theft, malfunction would be too much for any firm to handle, as opposed to just paying $7/hr to a mail man. Unemployment is the only issue I have with such technologies, not just the short term cost implications.

Cars didn't get cheaper with time, remember? And this is even a more advanced technology.

And apart from that, it would cause more employment of skilled and specialized labour like I.T, electrical and electronics graduates and technicians, thereby shooting up the expenditure on staffing... It's not going to be cheaper anytime soon, but let's keep our fingers crossed.

In the long run, it's going to be too expensive to maintain and would lead to massive job loss for semi-skilled personnel. Robotics and computer tech is the future anyways, no one can deny that.

You omitted to say roboassasin is in view! Scary!

A word of advice...stop hating people on the basis of their color or tribe.

Hatred may make you feel powerful for a few minutes, but at the end of the day, it would wreck your life. And it won't benefit you at all.

So, grow up, be mature...and stay healthy.

I had to screen shot this comment and show them to Nigerians, very nice response

The delivery dogs can be programmed to defend themselves and neutralize the attacker. Very possible.
