Philip Trimnell is the son of Late Col. Rudolf Trimnell (Rtd0 of the Nigerian Army Supply and Transport Corps from Aboh in Delta State. Philip Trimnell was a student of St. Gregory College, Obalende Lagos State and later moved to Loyola College, Ibadan to complete his Secondary School Education. He proceeded to the University of Ibadan for his first degree in Theartre Arts and later travelled to America to do his Masters Degree at Loyola University also in Theater Arts. The first Musical Video produced by Philip Trimnell was a group known as Ecstasy.
A group consists of Stella and Roy of the Bruce’s family, songs written by Phillip Trimnell and produced by Gregory Wright for Ben Bruce Records. The Musical Video was shot in Los Angeles before Ben Murray Bruce and Philip Trimnell returned to Nigeria in 1983 to set up their business in Nigeria. The record was marketed by Polygram Records.

The late Col Rudolf Trimnel was from Ashaka in the old Aboh division not from Aboh itself though both towns are sister towns. Been trying to find out if he died during or after the war. I confirmed he was put in charge of guarding the Niger Bridge by the federal forces but had a knee problem that needed attention to. I’m unable to confirm if he was there during the invasion by Biafran forces and thereafter. There’s no further mention of him either on the Nigerian or Biafran side.
