The Nigeria Labour Congress has said the N27,000 new national minimum wage endorsed by the National Council of States earlier on Tuesday is unacceptable and have rejected it.

The NLC Secretary-General, Dr Peter Ozo-Eson, made this known to the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja.

According to him, the council has no jurisdiction determining another amount after a Tripartite Committee had submitted its report.

“It is abysmal of government to be delaying the submission of an Executive Bill to the National Assembly and by wrongfully adopting N27,000 through the council of states,” he said.

I swear the president of this NLC is a dummy... Can't he just think to know about the consequences of increasing the minimum wage..
1 inflation will be mad because price of things will go up since market women and traders want to have there own share of the minimum wage
2 people working for private institution will suffer because they are not included in the minimum wage and this tends to increase demand in otapiapia and sniper
The only way out of this is for government to provide essential things that an average man can afford

they are saying that a tripatite committee which involves the fg as members agreed in the 30k figure why are they now approving 27k . Did you not read
