Congratulations on your mum's visa approval. Please what did you do differently from the previous application? I'm also in the process of applying for my parents, though the invitation is coming from my brother in Canada. mimimum: |

Quite a number of things. I wrote a detailed letter of clarification to address the refusal. I did another detailed letter of invitation which stated that I will be fully responsible for her expenses. Then a purpose of travel letter from my mum that emphasized her family and job ties. I submitted updated bank statements and a flight ticket this time. I even added my siblings birth certificates to show ties and all that. Basically, I was more detailed this time. I omitted a lot of things in the previous application, so I guess being detailed and favoured by God came to play the second time. We have already landed, so she'll come in when the baby is due. jhoci: |

I think you should have ordered your GCMS note to know the exact reasons for refusal. What is written on d letter us usually just generic reasons. If u cant wait for the GCMS then apply again but I dont think you should write childbirth. Do u hold a current US visa? That could help too. goldee29: |

Good day I just tracked my application and realized my passport has been ready for pick since January 18th How long can I leave the passport at vfs before I collect as I won't be going to Lagos until 12th of February. Can I wait till then? |
| Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by folmus: 1:08pm On Jan 24, 2019 |
Wumi93:You better go and pick it before they send it to Nigeria Immigration |
| Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by digitalgirl234: 2:35pm On Jan 24, 2019 |
Wumi93:If you have a trusted person in Lagos.. write then an authorization letter on a photocopy of your passport with their name and signature to pick it up on your behalf. From my turkish vfs experience, they will return it to the embassy after 30days of no pick up. Call vfs lagos for accurate info.. You can have them mail it to you too.. You could also write dhl an authorization letter to pick up in your behalf. |

Good day everyone! Please I need the advice of everyone in the house. I am 24 years old and I am currently a 200level student of Nation open university. I have been working as a receptionist for about 6 years and my salary is just 50k paid in cash. My uncle who is a PR wants me to visit him and his family in July and he is fully ready to fund the cost of the visit and host me during my two weeks stay. He'll be writing an invitation letter, and plans to transfer the sum of 1M into my account to cover for cost of flight and other travel expenses and will do a gift deed to that effect. Aside from the 1M my account doesnt have much in it. My question is with the above info, do i really stand a chance? My mum is still alive in Nigeria but my dad is late. I have other siblings in Nigeria as well. My employer is also willing to give me a reference letter stating my year of employment and salary details. What are my chances and what else can I do to improve my chances? Will a visit to Dubai boost my chances as travel history? |

He didn't say that. That us something u need to figure out as that us what the VO is thinking about. You have your hib, school and family ti return to. Write a letter explaining that these assets - economic and social are your ties to Nigeria and will bring you back. Of course u stand a chance. Gifty2canny: |

mrchemist:Wow... it wasn't ur agent fault. I submitted mine on july 22nd 2018 and till date is stil on process. Over 6 months now. On January 2nd this year the embassy just contacted my bank to verify my bank statement. It was after the bank proof my statement of account to them, then the bank gave me a call to notify me. It means the embassy are still working on my application. I also submitted online. So never blame ur agent. A friend of mine got approval last week. The process takes 9months. Imagine? So I wish u the best |
