There's a reason why I don't have any fixed criteria for choosing players. What worked in 1990 may not work today. Teams and playing styles are different, injuries and many other factors we can't explain.
Kane has shown consistency over the years not just in the EPL but also in other comps, come back firing after sustaining multiple injuries and things I see. If he doesn't win a trophy, I won't see it as a reason not to rate him.
