This is another development bait for the Igbos. My Igbo brothers will fall over themselves, and rush to quickly develop this place, with investments running into billions, living out their Igboland to remain undeveloped and in ruins. With their errorneous thinking that Lagos is a no-man's-land, in due time, when it happens again, they would as usual, forfeit all their investments to the natives. WISE MEN FROM THE EAST! |

Building is not the problem. The problem is will it be affordable for ordinary citizens or will the price be skyrocketed as usual. |

Onlinealaba:Pity why are you comparing Lagos with other state. It's like comparing London with Birmingham. Try and compare Lagos with Johannesburg, Cairo, Nairobi and even Ivory Coast and you'd realise that Lagos is far behind in terms of public infrastructure |

Ikeja, Lagos Island and Mainland can have a reprieve. OGUN State IJEBU waterside prosperity loading like before and even better! Good product- good thinking! Wished Ambode didn’t set about his job with the mentality of an Emperor who knows it all! |

With the kind of investments pouring into the Lekki FTZ area, governments at all levels better put in place efficient transport systems oh. The go-slow will be unprecedented! |

Bluffly:my brother some of these so called foreigners you see are scammers used by the govt to launder money. And I wonder what is so magical about white people that we worship them. Infact I wanted to dress up my friend who is homeless here to come and collect contract from the government. |

winterfell007:Heck no, it's not (with the arguable exception of Jo'burg). Only thing is that because Lagos is such a vast megapolis, infrastructure is uneven. |

Bluffly:Who told you that foreigners are supervising the actual construction? The foreigners in these pictures are the foreign investors who brought their MONEY to build the project. Nonetheless, even if they bring a few experienced foreign engineers to supervise the project, so what? Our own engineers will only learn from working with such foreigners on a project that would NOT exist without foreign funds, so it is ultimately a win-win situation. Professional merit should never ever be sacrificed on the altar of crass xenophobia (or the quota system that’s all but crippled our country). After all, when that massive building recently collapsed in Port Harcourt (as well as the many other buildings collapsing all over our country), there was nary a foreign engineer in sight. |

| Re: LASG Launches 1,000-hectares Modern Satellite City In Epe (pictures) by 9jaRealist: 7:44am On Jan 30, 2019 |
sayisayi:Again, heck no (and btw neither is Dakar, before you turn there). Abidjan is a smaller city than Lagos and thus does not face quite the same level of infrastructural pressures that Lagos does. Furthermore, since the large-scale demolition of slums back on 2014/15 (something that will never happen in Lagos without all hell breaking loose), it has fewer slum settlements (albeit there are still a few). Nonetheless, large swathes of its physical infrastructure is aged and degraded (having been mostly built in the 1970s and 1980s under Houphouët Boigny’s government), which is why the Iviorian government in the middle of just this past year launched a new $7 billion infrastructure renewal and development plan (that would include an urban rail plan). |

MIMOSAXY:But they tend to have actual PRACTICAL experience, which no amount of classroom theories can compensate for (even ignoring grade buying with money, sex or other means rampant in many Nigerian universities). Let them work with knowledgeable and experienced professionals and gain PRACTICAL experience therefrom. Some things are too important compromise with quotas (or xenophobia). |

9jaRealist:Really? Truth is, the typical Governor does not have to be super smart to succeed. Every State has a development plan and all a typical Governor need do is follow the aspect of the plan that is allied to his focus for the State. Ambode would have performed better had he concentrated on day-to-day governance while leaving the political side of things to his political backers. He cut them off and they switched him off! |

zoedew:Nigeria is suffused with so-called “development plans” (Vision 2010, Vision 20/20, NEEDS, Transformation Agenda, ERGP, etc.), so pardon me if I am less impressed with theoretical plans than actually seeing a Governor that not only delivers projects but seems to understand the essence of governance and the need to develop the requisite capacity to deliver same. Anyway, Nigerians have rarely (if ever) failed to punish success (how relative) while rewarding failure, so not particularly shocked here. I’m sure “political backers” like MC Oloumo are thrilled. Sharpmouth19:Exactly bros! ![]() The Abule Egba and Ajah flyovers are in Epe. The Pen Cinema flyover, the Oshodi Interchange, and the Ikeja, Yaba and Oyingbo bus terminals are all located in Epe. The 450 inner roads reconstructed/rehabilitated across all of the LCDAs must have actually been located in Epe. Ayinke House (LASUTH) construction/reconstruction will be moved to Epe. The new Onikan Stadium and the JK Randle Centre must be in Epe. Not to forget that the reconstructed Ikorodu Road, including the new BRT corridor is in Epe. Just as the new Airport expressway and the new Oshodi-Abule BRT corridor, the Ojodu Berger bridges and slip roads, the JJT, Oshodi and Oyingbo parks and gardens, are all located in Epe. There are plans to uproot all of the schools and health centers reconstructed/renovated under Ambode for relocation to Epe. The Imota rice mill and the Light Industrial Park is really in Epe, the Smart City project is in Epe as is the ongoing transformation of the Sabo Industrial Estate in Yaba into a technology cluster, and of course all of the HOMS housing schemes in Mushin, Surulere (Iponri), Badagry (Ajara Estate), Alausa, Eti-Osa, Alomosho, etc., must also be in Epe. In fact, the Imeke-Ajido bridge and the new Olusola Thomas Court complex in Badagry must have really been intended for Epe. Folks, if we are going to have an intelligent discussion let’s start with FACTS and factual rectitude. |

9jaRealist:I get your drift but it’s about elected public officials recognise that successful tenures in office are the product of political sagacity and sound performance in governance simpliciter! Ambode is terribly low on the former and is not humble enough to be helped. By political backers I meant not folks of the ilk of MC xxxomo! |
