NANS Demands non-staged Presidential Chat with Buhari

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has frowned at what it described as a stage-managed presidential chat with national youth leaders on Friday.

The students' body however asked that another presidentail chat be organised with President Muhammadu Buhari and youth groups across the country in attendance.

The National Public Relations Officer of NANS, Comrade Adeyemi Azeez, stated this in a statement on Saturday.

According to the statement, "NANS calls on the presidency to avail Nigerian youths and students drawn across the states of the federation from all youths and students groups,the right full opportunity of engaging president Muhammad buhari ahead of the presidential election,thereby intimate him of the situation of challenges Nigerian youths and students are facing.

"NANS describes the Friday night chat of president Muhammad buhari with some selected youths and students,as a deliberate mockery of the country's integrity, as some of the questions asked by the participants were not answered by the president.

"It became obvious that the program was a staged one, when the president was called upon to give a closing remarks.

"Ordinarily, one would have expected that the president marry questions and issues raised by participants to make his remarks, surprisingly the president read a prepared speech as his closing remarks.

"No doubt this act had proven to the ideologically equipped Nigerian youths and students that the program doesn't depicts the tagged tittle.

*NANS hereby calls on the president to equip himself ahead, as Nigerian youths and students are anxiously waiting to engage him constructively and progressively soon".
