You can't expect someone buying a container load of items to choose air-freight (which is definitely faster than sea-freight), same way you don't expect someone buying just one or two pieces to choose sea-freight.

Also, all the sellers on offer up, letgo etc also are selling to meet a need and make profit, no matter your lowballing skills, they have a limit they won't go below except you use lowballing++ , which means number of deals would definitely reduce.

I believe majority of your clients here deal in Lagos, Lagos prices are quite volatile, an item's price in Ikeja can drop as much as 20k in a week, while this may not affect those in other parts of the country, though ecommerce doesn't have borders but your local market matters.

It’s not about being shortsighted...if this rates have been here u wouldn’t have said this rather u would have become accustomed to it and negotiate better..we all know clone charges almost this same rates and way more higher pick up fee and items still don’t get here in time when he does ship.. these same pple complaining now are the same pple that complain when Lionlee’s shipment exceeds 10 days saying that they have waited for long and the value of their items are dropping...if lionlee wasn’t doing pick up and most of us still use company’s like cargoatlantic to ship items to Nigeria..they charge way higher than what pickers on Nairaland charge and items can get delayed for almost 3 weeks..cargo Atlantic charges 30 dollars on used phones no matter the type and 45 dollars for new phones..I think y’all need to start negotiating better

When that happens my brother phones go quick enter naija but to sell am go slow die. Just watch. Most of you are pushed by the December and January delay. So it looks too sweet now. Please do something about Samsung phones. S8 is already below 100k. Is even around 90k in the market. S8 plus is rush to get below that same 100k and paying almost 10k in the shipping to Nigeria. Not to talk of waybill is kind of much. And the change is coming too quick. I think u should look at this whole new price and see a way u will plan it so that it will not hit many of us off the market. This 2 days shipping will make the end users paying less. And some will even join In to get the deals. Is sweet and fast. But on the long run. It will hit everyone. I think what will be the best (my view) is to see how to use the 2 days shipping to clear the already filled warehouse. Den we will all go back to the normal shipping. Normal shipping is good. not everyone is being pushed by December and January delay most pple here have always wanted it.. and they can testify to that...we have had instances where pple have asked for a way to make the shipping faster sometime far back in the thread..and chisomk9 and deyinka007 have spoken to me about it over the phone sometime in the past..even when lionlee mentioned about two days shipping before this current issue lots of pple were like “wow” “ good news to my ears” “finally” so u you see.....

One is the new price and the other is the shipping time. If with the old price. We can withstand the change that is coming ( next level). But now. The change can't come with the old price. you've spoken very well.. There are many reasons this 2 days fast shipping won't be cool in Chicago, best is after this delay issue is solved, lionelee should continue with he's normal 5-10 days shipping.

same thing I'm saying. With lionlee 2days shipping covering 3 pickers plus that of milky, business for the real importers is getting to its dawn. Why do you guys see people come here to ask for reseller price. Cos most of them cant put their money down for 2 weeks but in 2 days hell yeah. Una go feel say clients dey ground to buy phones but with time all that will change. If I was an end user with this 2days I no go go cv go buy we die here . If Mikky's deal is all good, only few will be here. We saw Mikky's house before we carry ourselves enter here.

I don't post here much but I'd like to comment on this issue.

I don't buy in volume so, naturally I'd support the 2 days shipping. But if we want to be honest with ourselves,
we need to consider the amount of deals on offerup compared to the number of buyers here.

Most of the opinions I've read here are based on "Ideal Situations" so let's consider this:

1. Lionel (and friends) are the cheapest (I think) and most preferred pickers available.

2. Market pressure is relieved when people have their money tied down by goods in transit.

3. Lionel can only do a limited amount of pickups per day, so this is definitely
going to give him more work sorting out who sent which deal first as this will become
common, because cash flow has been accelerated. (Maybe he welcomes this idea, idk)

4. Deals are relatively limited in the 3 states where oga and co operate.

5. If sellers aren't agreeing to my offers, I'd start offering a little higher. This applies to most people,
and You can see where this leads. (Although the faster turnover might compensate for this)


In the end, I believe the market will always find equilibrium. Prices might go up a bit but change is always welcome.
I think we should give this a chance, no half and half to avoid confusion. 2 Days shipping only for a specified period, Maybe 2 or 3 months and then after that, we have this same conversation again. If necessary, do the normal shipping only once a month.
