A lot of extremely stupiid people who keep looking at this country from their own high grounds.

Anybody who's able to make a comment here is not among the class of Nigerians that the VP is talking about.

There are tens of millions of Nigerians who have never gathered #10,000 in their entire lives.

These Nigerians do not have no smart phones,
They do not buy fuel for cars and generators,
They do not hang out drinking beer every weekend,
They do not have homes made of cement but wood,
They do not have electric coolers in fancy kitchens but cool with firewood.
They do not send their kids to school unless the government builds government schools around them.

Give these people 10k someday and see them worship you for life! Just try.
Give them 10k to put into their tomato business or their grinding business and see them pray for you.

And trust me there are over 50 million of such people in Nigeria.
. You're the most stupid to think the 10k really got to those people you just mentioned.

-ten thousand can start fruits business with much profit after sell.
-ten thousand can elevate agbo sellers.
-ten thousand will be of big help to banana and groundnut sellers
The issue here is some people are not thinking and cannot be creative.

Nigeria cannot give over 50 million people jobs for the next 50 years.
Now that's why we need to get the private sector working, industries running, reducing the cost of doing business by focusing on those 20% developmental strategies that would yield the 80% of dividends (the 80-20 rule of thumb)

I am in support of anyone who will do that, irrespective of the person's ethno religious persuasions.

And that remains why Yaradua was my favorite president. Atiku is showing some promise, he should be tried. Buhari never had a plan from day 1, I was surprised many people couldn't see that. But now they do.

You are seriously talking out of point. Anyone who does tomatoe business in Nigeria will not worship you if you gv him or her 10k. Maybe you don't understand this or u don't reside in Nigeria. The currency is not as it used to be, thanks to this administration. 10k now worth almost nothing in some part of the country To run any kind of business now, you need a running cost of more than dt amount, let alone capital. Little wonder the money was rejected in some parts of Lagos. If he had given that money to the poor without business, and call it "one week feeding moni", maybe he will be worshipped.

While it is true that 10k might be a lot of money for some people, and yes if you offered me free 10k I'll even thank you. But it is erroneous to say that millions of adults have not made 10k in their entire life, that is a fallacious statement.

Given the overwhelming inflation in the country and the insane high cost of living. You cannot expect me to believe that a trader (not a destitute, even beggars make more than that in a week), has not made 10k in their life.

That said, Tradermonie was a use one stone to kill 2 birds scheme. The VP being directly involved ensured the political undertone of it and hence the "vote buying" clamoured by opposition. But it is Nigeria, anything goes.

#10K is too small. In fact I spend a minimum of #5K per day. Though not daily, but on the average

The idea for this scheme would have being good if properly thought out. These loans are interest and collateral free so what happens when people don't pay back? Will the government deep their hands into the treasury to continue funding it? 10k may look small but multiple that with 50,000 people who decide not to pay back and see how much the Nigerian economy will lose. Again, let's not forget we are already paying Mpower allowances.

If this money (if we are to believe this figure is real) was used to set up small scale industries which provides products for the local and international market especially in states that always depend on bail out funds to pay workers, I am sure that it will be a lot more beneficial than giving out 10k as a business loan. More people will earn a living and thus improve their life.
Why can't Nigeria get it right? And I disagree, with the right formula and the right people, we can achieve more than 50 million jobs in 50 years. I speak as a Nigerian without any party affiliation.

That you are giving them what rightly belong to them in the first place is removing them from poverty ? Wasn't Buhari not in power before now if he had done the right thing will these people be needing 10k? If not that the Word of God told us to pray for our leaders I would have fasted and pray some dangerous prayers on them.

Just imagine they invested that money in electricity... I’m not an expert on that matter but I guess 20 billion can go a long way in wiping electricity problem if properly utilized...

Imagine the possibilities

No need for generator!!! Fuel money saved

No need for ice blocks

The impact on Companies across the country

Small businesses all over would have better profitability

My mind cannot even fully fantasize the blessing it would be on me if there was 24hours light in our country

I spend roughly minimum of 60k per week on fuel as a business operator, and I cant do without spending it, I have a guy that spends like 400k on fuel per week, we never talk of the repairs for the generator since they work morning till night, plus I have to keep a standby generator, me alone I get 7 generators...

We don’t need 10k, we need an improved/enabling economy that can aide businesses, development and boost the life of an average nigerian
