E get as this story be.How can you bundle a child inside your car and drove off with this kind gbege wey full nigeria now?and why no one noticed what transpired between him and the kids until he got killed?

My younger brother loaned a lady some cash some years back. When it was time to pay, the lady started dribbling him like J J Okocha until one day, he got to her house determined to collect his money but was told by her eldest son that mummy just went out to the shop (my brother doesn't know where shop is) My brother told the son to call his mother and inform her that he was waiting for her at home since she'd stopped taking his calls.

Son called his mom and they spoke in some coded ibo language which my brother was able to decode a little that the boy should go through the backdoor unnoticed and come to the shop which was a very long distance from the house. (Oyibo to Rumomasi if you know Ph enough)

My brother offered to give the boy a ride to wherever he was going to after he intercepted the son at the backyard trying to escape. Boy entered the car and started giving directions. Soon after, mom called and son told her he was coming in my brother's car to the shop, mother scolded him on the phone called him names and dropped the call, my brother was just calm.

By the time they finally arrived at the shop, Dreaded looking men of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit, Mini Okoro Police Division Port Harcourt (which was not so far from the shop) were on ground to pick my brother for attempted child kidnap.

Clear SET UP...!!! Woman had raised a false alarm, called the police claiming that the 'kidnaper' was requesting for money and she'd promised to give the alleged 'kidnapper' the money as soon as they get to her shop.

Well, cut long story short, my brother had to agree to part with the money he was being owed that night (N150k) just to get off the hook...!!

My thought exactly. Surprised this statement came further down. I am even believing he has another job people don't know about. Why put a child in your car? Seriously, who does that? Considering all the stories we hear about kidnapping. I don't even talk to children I don't know like that sef. In my car? That's a no no.

What a painful way to die, in as much as I condemned their action, the man in question made a costly mistake, if only there was one or few witnesses that saw what transpired between him and those small children, at least they can testify on his behalf, or create awareness for people to bear him witness before bundle some one's child into his car, I mean who does that? So sad! A friend was travelling for a wedding to a village with his colleagues in the office. Few kilometers from the village, they stop and dropped from the vehicles to inquire how far was the village, and shook hand with the villagers. After getting the description, they were about going back into their vehicle, when someone they shook hand with in the village raised an alarm that they ve removed his peni$. The rest na story....they spent 2 days with the police b4 they were released.

As much as you do this understand it has it short comings which is your can never be too careful.
The true way out is to orient and educate people to report cases to security. Also we must strengthen the security forces to become trustworthy in handling crimes when handed to them.
Else all other methods(Jungle justice, let it slide) are temporary measure that cut the leaves while the root is still very healthy.

I agree with u. I think he overreacted. Or the story is not entirely true.
I find it hard to believe that kids, who were running away because they did something bad, will turn around and accuse their pursuer of kidnap. They would be more likely to tell their elders exactly what happened and why one of them was caught, rather than spinning such outrageous lies on the spot.
But what do I know....the devil is wicked. And when village pple remember someone, even water will hang between his teeth

And what if your brother thought he would make more money from rituals and had driven off with the boy?

It’s bemusing to me that some people still do not seem to get the inappropriateness of impermissbly driving away with someone else’s kid. To be brutally honest, your brother’s actions were STUPID and ill-advised. What if there had been a accident and your brother survived while the kid died? Frankly, your brother should count himself lucky that the woman actually did the right thing under the circumstances of reporting to police authorities and that he only lost N150k in the process.
