Do you realise the most these projects were already scheduled and budgeted for by the past govt and they are not abandoned like Buharist like to claim bit have always been within progress and some of them were even delayed by the Buhari govt ..

Are you aware that in his first stint as head of state in the 80s Buhari achieved Zero capital project implementation and are you also aware that the first 2 years of this current govt also scored zero in capital budget implementation only for them to start commissioning Jonathan's scheduled projects as election approach and they have nothing to hold on to.

Are you aware that every single Nigerian president has a power plant project to his name except Buhari ... See a leader without vision cannot take you your vision.
Bro, let's always put political sentiments aside and checkmate infrastructure development with realities, it has been reiterated, that if past administrations completed several projects, theoretically started by predecessors, we'd be far better of.

There are several IPP projects like the Azura power plant, with 1500mw capacity that was conceived by his predecessor but stalled because of funding disagreements since 2012, those concerns have been mitigated and construction began immediately after PMB's inauguration, do u know the impact of an added 1,500mw to our hovering 4,000mw grid, you don't expect Buhari to neglect these projects that will beneficial to ALL NIGERIANS, just because he wants to prove his ingenuous ability of starting new projects.

SalamRushdie, let's give kudos to whom its due bro!

No Sir Buhari is the one certified not intelligent and you that are supporting him are not intelligent ...

Do you realise that most of the projects were already scheduled and paid for and not abandoned like you claim .

Buhari said Jonathan did nothing yet the only thing he is commissioning are Jonathan scheduled projects.

Buhari said Jonathan did not but weapons for the military but the he hadn't ordered a single rifle since he came on board and keeps claiming weapons ordered by Jonathan ..

keep fooling yourself because of a dull demented vile failed man
ogbeni stop making a fool of yourself with this your paid for assertions.

1.) Lagos Ibadan rail wasn't paid for by Jonathan. PMB paid for it in 2017 January.

2.) Lagos Abeokuta road wasn't paid for. PMB paid for it

3.) Lagos Ibadan expressway wasn't paid for by Jonathan there has been allocations for it in 2016, 2017 and 2018 budget and the saraki led senate has been cutting down the payment.

4.) ikorodu-shagamu road wasn't paid for by Jonathan. PMB paid for it march last year

https://www.legit.ng/1160465-fg-approves-n208bn-rehabilitation-ikorodu-shagamu-road.html

5 ) Enugu Onitsha expressway is being rehabilitated with sukuk bond obtained by PMB

6.) repair of Nnamdi Azikiwe airport run way was paid for by PMB. GEJ only paid for the terminal

7.) ore-ijebu ode expressway which is currently being rehabilitated was paid for by PMB

8.) PMB released 33b for second Niger bridge
https://punchng.com/fg-releases-n33bn-for-second-niger-bridge-project/

the only projects Jonathan paid for are the terminals in port Harcourt and abj and the abuja-kaduna rail.

uncle what's your definition of the word "MOST"

since you said most of the projects were already paid for?

STOP THE PATHETIC LIES!!!
Re: Lagos Ibadan Railway - An Attempt To Rewrite History by Holak: 8:19am On Feb 07, 2019
The Lagos-Ibadan rail is not yet completed. Assuming Atiku wins and after May 2019, he completes and commissions it, I hope you will give all the credit to Atiku. You mentioned GEJ starting the Kaduna-Abuja rail project in passing and emphasized on who completed it. Government is a continuum and that is what it should be.

FriendNG:
[s]History will not be fair if we allow the misleading thread on front page about the construction of Lagos Ibadan Railway. While "AutoReport.Ng" might be doing so unintentionally, there is still need to put the record straight.

Currently, I believe there is not a single nairalander that follow-up infrastructural development threads like I and "Blue.3k." Especially when it comes to railway and transportation related threads.

For every new update on Lagos-Ibadan railway, I got the pictures as well as the video(s) first while many others are still searching.

Now back to the matter: AutoReport.NG claimed that Lagos-Ibadan railway starts with the administration of President Good luck Jonathan.
https://www.nairaland.com/5006756/fact-check-started-lagos-ibadan

Now the word Start might be very complex but we will decode it.

Start what exactly?

There is a clear difference between starting a project practically and starting a project theoretically on paper.

The Lagos-ibadan railway is only a segment of the larger Lagos - Kano Standard Guage Rail, which is divided into four segments.

a. Lagos-Ibadan.
b. Ibadan-Abuja.
c. Abuja-Kaduna.
d. Finally kaduna-kano.

However it was later redesigned to accommodate other state capitals like Ado Ekiti, Minna, Akure etc.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lagos–Kano_Standard_Gauge_Railway

Idea & Construction Of The Project On Paper:

In 2006,
the Nigerian government awarded a $8.3 billion contract to the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation to construct a standard gauge railway from Lagos to Kano.

The idea of the project starts during the administration of President Obasanjo. The word awarded doesn't mean you have started the work. It's just a mere written commitment and not the work.
That is why despite Obasanjo awarding the project, not a single stone or brick was put on ground.

Due to lack of funding, the rail project was divided into 4 segments.

Abuja–Kaduna Segments ($876 million) : The construction of this segment starts with President Good luck Jonathan in 2011 and completed by President Buhari in 2016.

It is all clear President Jonathan starts the construction of Abuja - Kaduna railway segment of Lagos - Kano rail. And it was completed by President Buhari.

Lagos–Ibadan Segment

1. Who Awarded The Contract On Paper?

It was awarded by President Obasanjo in 2006 on paper and re-awarded by President Jonathan in 2012 on paper. And then renegotiated by President Buhari Administration.

https://www.vanguardngr.com/2011/07/fg-to-award-lagos-ibadan-rail-contract-soon-—jonathan/

2. Who Paid For The Contract?

I watched the vice presidential candidate of a party lying on national television that "the Administration of Goodluck pay for the rail project before leaving office." That is not only false but unbecoming of someone that once occupied the seat of power.

The first and full counterpart funding of Lagos Ibadan Railway was released by the Administration of Muhammad Buhari after a series of negotiation between China & Nigeria.

(The Nigerian Team includes: H.E Rotimi Amaechi, Hon. Kemi Adeosun, among others)

Buhari Released N72BN Full Counter Part Funding For Lagos-Ibadan Railway (Jan 2017)

https://www.vanguardngr.com/2017/01/fg-releases-n72bn-full-counterpart-funding-lagos-ibadan-rail/

3. Who Start / Flag Off The Practical Construction Of Lagos-Ibadan Railway?

The ground breaking which marks the initial commencement of construction works for the Lagos-ibadan railway was performed by H.E the acting president Prof Yemi Osinbajo in March 2017

https://www.legit.ng/amp/1092288-osinbajo-storms-lagos-flag-lagos-ibadan-rail-line-project.html

https://lagosstate.gov.ng/blog/2017/03/07/acting-president-osinbajo-gov-ambode-at-ground-breaking-ceremony-of-lagos-ibadan-railway-project-at-nigerian-railway-corporation-compound-ebute-metta-lagos/

https://www.sunnewsonline.com/excitement-anxiety-as-work-begins-on-lagos-ibadan-rail-project/amp/

If awarding of contract on paper means you have start the project then for every railway built by another administration, we can say Buhari started it. How?

Connect rail to 36 state capitals, Buhari directs

https://www.vanguardngr.com/2017/10/connect-rail-36-state-capitals-buhari-directs/

For The Records

1. The idea of Lagos Kano rail become more pronounced during the time of Obasanjo in 2016.

2. The Abuja - Kaduna segment was started by Goodluck administration in 2012 and Completed by the Buhari administration in 2016.

3. The Lagos Ibadan segment started with Buhari administration & it is already nearing completion.

Trash... Trying to justify ineptitude. Well done sir.

Why does he need to envision new projects when we have a thousand abandoned projects around the country? It is people like you that encourages politicians to abandon projects started by other administrations to start their own that will also be abandoned when they leave office. This government has completed projects started by Buhari as a military government! Let is get our priorities right!

The major problem with Nigerian government which have gone a long way to deprive the citizens of good life is lack of continuity, if other projects started by previous government in power were completed by their successors we couldn't have been in this mess, take for example the ajaokuta company and many others like. For completing projects started by previous governments shows that buhari is a leader with a vision

The contractor CCECC cannot obviously handle the project all at once, hence it was splitted starting with the Kaduna-Abuja rail line. Kudos should still go to Obasanjo administration that conceived, design and negotiated the loan financing the project.
You are wrong. The contractor can handled more than you think. It is only divided due to funding problem.
