That’s why Igbos come to Lagos, make money, run to their “village “ and build mansions so that when Lagos eventually scatters, they will will go back home to their backup plan . An average Igbo man knows that Lagos is not his home. If you’re still wondering why they travel en-masse to their homes during Christmas , you must still be a dreamer .

Even though they come to Lagos, build houses , put yorubas as their tenants , they will collect their rents and send it back home. In other words, Lagos is on the verge of collapse , only the wise take action.

This is Onipanu area of Lagos. On one side you have Somolu and the other you have Mushin. I'd have been surprised if the median lasted a whole year intact. Half of the area boys in Lagos have their roots in either side of the median. They love to break the law just for the fun of it. I always avoid both areas because they are major parts of Lagos wilderness. If you know, you know.

The only thing I always miss about Nigeria is lawlessness

Do tell my home boiz you could kill someone publickly and go scot-free if you have money in my country.

And that you could pack your car in the middle of a busy express road and start partying. The police will have to come and beg you to go after tipping all of them.
Cross river state begs to differ
We are a law abiding state

In Lagos, our love for short cuts is legendary.

For some bizarre reasons – Lagosians are always in a hurry.

Lagosians always have a way of circumventing established processes without any consideration for their consequences.

For instance, these wire mesh fences were constructed by the Governor Akinwunmi Ambode administration along very busy expressways in the state.

They were constructed to discourage pedestrians from crossing the expressway.

The median fences also serve the purpose of discouraging street trading and hawking on these expressways.

Also, with the fences – pickpockets, robbers and other criminals who emerge from nowhere and snatch valuables from unsuspecting pedestrians before disappearing into their hideouts have also being prevented from operating easily.

Despite these benefits, some sections of the median have been cut out to serve as thoroughfare for errant pedestrians.

In the pictures below, some Lagosians – despite the conspicuous presence of a pedestrian bridge and the inherent risk of getting run over by speeding motorists – can be seen using the cut out section of the wire fence as short cuts to the other side of the road.

Why do Lagosians put themselves in harms way?

Indeed, Lagosians, why are we like this?

Re: Lagosians, Why Are We Like This? (PHOTOS) by Originalsly: 8:56pm On Feb 08, 2019
Why blame the pedestrians? I blame the city planners. Overhead pedestrian walkways are usually in areas where not many people need to cross the roadway. In areas with lots of foot traffic....why not traffic lights and zebra crossings?.... veryyyyyy common in cities worldwide....for yearssss?
Analog brained leaders making decisions in a digital world. Maybe the fences need to be torn down to force them to find another way to control foot traffic.
