Fellow NIgerians and citizens of thought. I just watched the Verdict on Channels TV tonight and was pleased to note that Nigerian Youths (students) make up the highest registered voters for 2019 elections.Even though, that can be subjected to a debate, the fact that some positive statistics regarding the Nigerian Students for this election following a prolonged strike and the hardship this categories of Nigerians face gave me some relief. I am deeply concerned that some people in this bracket of the voting population will be denied their franchise because they are in private universities.Notable among this two are Madonna University and Covenant University. These Universities have not indicated or informed these Nigerians that they would be released to vote for their candidates 72 hrs to the elections. This is disenfranchisement in all its forms and the refusal or passive disposition of these schools' management should be thoroughly condemned. Madonna,Covenant and other Private Universities, some registered voters have to travel at least 19 hrs on bus to get to their voting units and vote, please release these students ASAP to do the needful..This is daylight robbery!!! I am not pro-any candidate.I just want to use this capable medium to spread the word to the Chancellors and school management's team and if possible INEC...Help these young `NIgerians and allow them go home to vote.\ FELLOW NAIRALANDERS!!!PLEASE HELP SPREAD THIS WORD BY LIKING AND REBROADCASTING.. Thank you. #don't disenfranchise the voting population#.#stop private universities against NIgerian progress# |

Misconception. Do you think 90% of them cares what's going on in the country. 95% don't even have their voters card, so guy relax. |

These Universities have not indicated or informed these Nigerians that they would be released to vote for their candidates 72 hrs to the elections. This is disenfranchisement in all its forms and the refusal or passive disposition of these schools' management should be thoroughly condemned.I dont get this. Im assuming these students are adults and they have free time to go vote. If they want to vote during class time they can skip school or get excuse. Madonna,Covenant and other Private Universities, some registered voters have to travel at least 19 hrs on bus to get to their voting units and voteWhy arent there polling locations at or near the school? Lol these universitys must be in the boonies. Where do the locals vote. |

amaniro:Bros please check your statistics again. You may be wrong this time. It's different from 2015 in terms of statistics.Let the needful be done. They shouldn't disenfranchise them no matter the guise.Let the institutions release their students first, then we can prove your stats later. |

Blue3k:there are no polling stations or/and these schools have not told the students they could go and vote.for one of the schools,in 2015,they allowed them go home/their polling centres to vote, many of them are registered,so why won't they let them vote.Let's call a spade a spade this is wrong!! |

Anniwil:Most of them are small children oga it's a private school. Their paramount concern is not the election but their studies. To whom ever cares to vote should take exeat card. |

amaniro:Then they should release them and state that those wanting to vote should take exeat card..That is not been done, and exeat card would not be proper with lectures going on.So if i stay in Abj,i'd take exeat on friday, say, vote on saturday, then return on Sunday, oga leave that thing.Let the right thing be done |

Anniwil:it's not by force to vote anyway. Most of them don't care like I said. I really relate with them well. Most of them are politically apathetic. |

Anniwil:They arent holding them hostage. If they want to go they can go the election is on Saturday. The bigger issues is the lack of polling stations to begin with. That means nobody in area can easily vote. |
