English Fa Cup: How Much Do Clubs Earn From The Competition by Nobody: 5:23pm On Feb 16, 2019
Another round of English FA Cup is here, where the current league leader Manchester City is away to take on league 2, 15th placed Newport County at Rodney Parade stadium, while the biggest match of the fifth round is a repeat of 2018 FA cup final showdown between defending champion Chlesea fc and Manchester United at Stamford Bridge on Monday 18th of February. The competition which is otherwise known as The Emirates Cup, the oldest national football competition in the world, little is however known about the total money earned by the eventual winner or the participating teams. Here, at Sportinomics, we brings you the details of the payment, listed round by round for this year 2016/2019 FA cup
With over 360 participating teams in the competition, it is believed that the money earned by the eventual winner should be bogus. However, the research shows that the winner of this year will go with a paltry sum of roughly £7m depending on the eventual winner, this dwarfed by the English Premier league prize winner who earned roughly £160m in the last season championship.
The Emirates FA Cup Season 2018-2019, Payments made from The FA’s prize fund
Rounds No of Clubs () Amount [£]
Extra preliminary round winners. (184 ) £2,250, Losers receive £750
Preliminary round winners (160) £2,890, Losers receive £960
First round qualifying winners (116) £6,000
Second round qualifying winners. (80) £9,000
Third round qualifying winners (40) £15,000
Fourth round qualifying winners (32) £25,000
First round proper winners (40) £36,000
Second round proper winners (20). £54,000
Third round proper winners (32) £135,000
Fourth round proper winners (16) £180,000
Fifth round proper winners ( 8 ) £360,000
Quarter Final winners ( 4 ) £720,000
Semi final losers ( 2 ) £900,000
Semi final winners. ( 2 ) £1,800,000
Final runners-up ( 1) £1,800,000
Final winner. ( 1 ) £3,600,000
Therefore, aside the prestige and “Giant Killing” moment, you can now understand why the teams prioritize the survival in the Premier league over the winning of a trophy like FA and Carabao Cup, it is basically peanuts compared to participating in the Premier league.

it's not about the money but it's about the prestige and records of winning the trophy
Even if any team wins UCL today that team has spent more than the money that will be given.
