Postponement Of Presidential Election A Coup- Donald Duke by EddieKiing(m): 9:35am On Feb 17, 2019
The Social Democratic Party (SDP) Presidential Candidate, Mr Donald Etim Duke has described the postponement of the presidential election scheduled for Saturday, February 16th as a coup against Nigeria.

Speaking with newsmen in his resident in Calabar, Duke regretted the postponement, saying that the postponement was a national embarrassment and disgrace.

“The folks have come all over the world to observe and monitor our elections, Nigerians have travelled length and breadth to go and participate in the civic responsibilities, all of the sudden, our so-called Independence National Electoral Commission (INEC) postponed the elections, it is totally unheard of.

“You don’t postpone election like that, not even a week before the elections but four hours. Now, if you are a participant in this election, you have your agents spread throughout the length and breadth of this country, you financially empowered them because they are going to take money for accommodation, feedings and all sort of things, then last minutes, this happened, all that money is wasted, you got to start all over again.

“It is a trick, well scripted and it has been taken to the next level, this trick was to breed the opposition financially, PDP started this nonsense but this government has taken it to the next level, theirs was a week before the election but this guy has taken it to four hours into the election.

“We all know that the government in power has unlimited access to finance but the opposition does not, so by the time you get to election day, the opposition would be exhausted or barely able to go through the process again, they have only one week to raise funds, you are not talking about pittance here, we are talking about millions and billions of naira because we are talking about National elections” he said.

Mr Duke said, “It is impossible for INEC to do this without consultation with government, usually; government can even instigate them to do this for one reason or the other. It is sad, I just imagine, the way the rest of the world will look at us.

“There is nowhere that INEC could postpone the election without collaboration with the federation. The action was an international disgrace, we are a nation so compromised, our sycophancy has taken another form, we don’t speak the truth to power that be” he stated.

He attributed the postponement to the incompetence of the National Chairman, “People have travelled the bad road, security is questionable, all sort of things have happened, yet elections was postponed.

“INEC had four years to conduct election, they know that every four years, they have to conduct election, nothing new, they know this, they started asking for money last year, that is stupid, you waited to the last moment, they have no excuse whatsoever, if they can’t move the materials, there is aeroplane or helicopter, this is 21st century for goodness.

“This is where we find ourselves, regardless how well the election will be conducted, next week, if it happened at all, the result will not be accepted by all, because it has already been contaminated; if those that were smooth were not accepted then imagine what this will be.

On the outburst of Kaduna state governor regarding body bags, Mr Duke said, “Kaduna State Governor’s comment was a loose talk and that should not have come from the State Chief Executive and high ranking member of APC, he is a great friend of mine but he gets too emotional in his speech, he needs to be more cultured when addressing issues of those nature,” he said.

The govt is so clueless. Even more clueless than the past admin.

INEC has only one function to conduct election and they have almost four year to prepare for this. It's a pity they made a mess of everything.

So it was not a coup when inec refused to recognize the APC candidates for Rivers and Nasarawa elections.

So it was not a coup when PDP forced Inec to move a long time member of inec because of undue pressure from PDP

FYI, Mr Donald Duke the main opposition are decent stakeholders in the current political dispensation with the Legislature and sizable number of states firmly under their control.

Hence, raising funds to mobilize people across the nation shouldn't be a problem.

Whatever is worth doing at all is worth doing well.

I LOVE OBJ FOR HIS ELDERLY STATESMAN SPIRIT AND SINCERITY.

Dear Yorubas, 90% of Igbo people will vote ATIKU in the next election. It is not because he picked Peter Obi. In 2003 BUHARI picked Chuba Okadigbo and the Igbos voted OBASANJO. They are business oriented people, they know bad market when they see one. Dear Hausa /Fulani. In 2007 BUHARI picked Edwin Ume-Ezeoke, yet the Igbos voted Yaradua!. BUHARI can not manage the economy, as you have seen it. Experience they say is the best teacher. Igbos hate poverty and have never made mistakes in their choice of President in Nigerian History. Even after the civil war, Igbos rebuilt themselves with nothing to the envy of other Nigerians. Igbos do not hate Buhari, but they hate the POVERTY associated with Buhari and his Government. I believe that anyone can do better than Buhari and his APC cabals. Let's vote for Atiku-Obi, I know they will surely do better for Nigeria. Postponement of election will never save APC from defeat.

FROM AN INEC INSIDER

Easy for you to say. Maybe because you have never received death threats before, I have and I would not be quick to say stuff like that .
Fine, there was some logistics malfunction, whose fault? For me and my colleagues we will forever curse NASS for delaying and cutting down our budget. All these loop holes ARE because of that. As far back as January when THE CVR exercise started we had submitted our budget proposal of what we needed to do. What happened? There was outcry on why Inec would be given such amount of money. Blah blah blah. To cut the long story short, we told them we need the money to procure our materials, did they give us? Hell no! So what should we do afterall Inec is not a revenue generating commission like NNPC so we had to wait. The NASS were just bothered about the budget padding exposure and since they could not get what they wanted delayed the budget till October before approval November. We had barely two months to put things but We still tried our best. From November till now none of had a holiday or even went on one, all leaves in December were cancelled because we had to keep with the deadline so as not to disappoint Nigerians who as usual always look for whom to blame for even having headache. Now they are protesting the elections has been postponed for just a week, like seriously! Why didn't Nigerians protest when the budget was delayed? My Chairman was in a fix, but because it is an old commission with an old foundation, we knew we had to deliver. Ok after everything what next, we requested for support in delivery, the same Nigerians protested against it saying we want to work with the military in transporting materials. Blah blah. In our budget provisions were made for speed boats and helicopters but no...... The same Nigerians will question why Inec needs the money. Blah blah . Let go to security. The same Nigerians will say they want to know when we transport the sensitive materials and they are the same ones that will attack my colleagues and I when doing it. Ok. You are angry that your day is spoilt, I was up 3am sorting materials making sure that they will get to their destination. I can't Remember when last I slept for 6 hours. All my Sundays have been taken and you are angry for a week extension. With all this stress how much am i paid? I know it is not 13.5 million compared to what a law maker is earning for sitting on a chair. Have you ever sat on a canoe for 4 hrs just to transport materials from one creek to another in places that are waterlogged? No. Have you ever climbed a donkey in Mambilla just to transport materials over the hills? No . I Have. So I tell you that you cannot be more frustrated than I, but because it is my job I respect the decision extract made by the head office done by our chairman and 12 national commissioners represent each zone in the country. You do not what we go through to see how this exercise is carried which is why when some of you blab on the social media, I just shake my head and lose respect. Thank God now Nigerians have seen what last minute approvals can do to their well being. What goes around, always come around? It is a chain of events. They delayed the budget out of anger so why are they angry tha the elections are delayed. My dear I too need to catch up on my beauty sleep. 8 really need it. Till next week Saturday. Chao!

Nigerians are just too stupid and useless. Please let atiku or Buhari win so they can suffer more. Idiots deserve to suffer. How can u leave young and vibrant candidates like Donald duke , fela durotoye and sowore and be screaming atikulated and sai baba every where. What did atiku do as vice president. Is he not the same guy that spent naija money on advanced female oloshos like these Nolly wood female celebs. Is he not the same guy that bleeped and tore asses and compensated them with good cash?
You think he will come back and not tear more. This guy used our money to organize orgies and wild sex parties. Invited top international pornstars while u idiots suffered. This is th3 same guy that went to build an international standard university while all nigerian univerisities where in strike. I can go on an on.
As regards Buhari. This dude has been president 2 times , what did he do to stand out from the others?
Now let's talk of Donald duke. He was was just a governor of a state and he used that time to put naija on the world map. It's Donald duke that made most illitrate whites know that there was a place like nigeria. He is one of the guys that made the international community see nigeria as a tourist nation. Not knowing that the tourism was centered in a small state called cross river state. If as a gov. He could put nigeria in the world map as a result of the carnival, ogbudu mountain resort which still generates billions for naija even after he left and to tinapa. Don't you think he will do more if he is president?
On the other hand why even invite old thieves back. Instead of same old thieves, let new thieves come in. If naija is created to be looted, let the looting go round. Not same looters to keep looting. That's if the new guys are coming to steal.
Well na una go still suffer am. Some of us don't depend on the govt to survive. Personally, the worst the economy gets, the more I make money. Personally if I am to vote I Will still vote Buhari cos I see him destroying the economy more. The fact that he once made dollar to hit about 500 Naira is enough for me to vote him back. I know how much I benefited from that rise And I see him doing it again soon.

Perhaps, this information should have made the news when majority of ibos supported Namdi kanu by closing down their businesses and means of livelihood.

A bigot who spent nearly four years insulting nearly all the tribes in Nigeria.

You should also realize that Buhari chose Tunde Bakare in 2011, yet Yorubas chose Jonathan over him.

*Nigeria's 20-year uninterrupted democracy is under grave danger!
*The desperation of the APC to remain in power will become crystal clear in the days to come.
*What led to the collapse of the 2nd republic is gradually playing out under the supervision of the same man who truncated it.
*Statements like "nobody will unseat me" is deep. If you know you know.
